The Learning Goals
Learning goal:
My goal for this week was to learn how to make infinitely generated levels/rooms. With some randomness to it.
So I made this game, the rooms are Random generated with a random amount of doors. 1 of those doors will lead to a "good room" (also random) . When you have had a certain amount of "good rooms" you find the dog.
Learned:
I have learned that it is easier to make this than I thought it would be. The basis of Infinite generation is simple if you work with Prefabs and Arrays in Unity. It becomes more difficult with more conditions. I have gone through a few iterations of the generation process to enable all the conditions. I know my code could be better and more efficient. But i'm very happy with what i created.
This week was also more difficult than I thought it would be. Mainly because it has been a few years since I worked with Unity, so there was a lot of new stuff and a lot of stuff I had forgotten. So i (re)gained a lot of information about Unity itself
Your Wins
I had to think of a way to randomly assign a wall or a door to a "pathway" but also make specifically 1 door the good door. Through a lot of brainstorming and a different c# file where i tried it with only arrays I found a solution that worked on my own.
I'm also very happy that i finally finished a game
