Very cool little puzzle game, some were a bit tricky. I really enjoyed you art direction.
The mechanics is really cool! I like how you create the strategies with such a simple setting. Impressive work!
Thanks for playing!
A cool little puzzle game. Simple mechanics and a good difficulty level
Thanks for playing!
This is a really cool idea and I liked the game very much. Very tricky puzzles to solve. In a next version I would focus on improving the graphics, because the overall game play is very cool! Maybe also the music could use some improvements, as it was a bit repetitive. Maybe it would make sense, to introduce the rules directly within the levels, one after another. You can do this just by adding a short text, e.g. "Place the frog on the blue net to become activated". The main reason for this suggestion is that most people (especially not in a game jam) will read rules. On the other hand the game itself is not so complicated, so most people might figure it out on their own.
Congratulations to this very cool puzzle game. I hope you continue to work on this after the game jam!
Thanks for playing. I plan to expand this game and add a broader world setting. The gameplay could be adapted into gun modification or repair: when a yellow box enters an orange tile, it means a bullet is fired once; reloading would reset it to its initial state. It might be presented as a first-person front-desk interface, where you help different people repair or modify their guns—somewhat like Papers, Please.
I've played it a couple days ago, still awesome.
Awesome puzzle game, I love it! It's pretty unique and makes you think. Great game 👍
Pretty Underrated!
Very well made puzzles.
This was a lot of fun! I beat it, but I’ll confess on the last level was really just spamming frogs until it worked :P
I didn’t understand what the condition is for termination. At first it seemed like they have to become completely stable before it terminates, but then I saw some terminate while motion was still possible.
Thanks for playing! The end condition I set is when a cycle produces exactly the same state as before, including all frogs, spiders, and boxes. Because once the same state appears again, that state will keep repeating over and over after that.
I made a new version that includes an Answer button. Hope everyone enjoys playing it even more.
Puzzles are cleverly design, and once I got used to game I entered a sort of flow state, and barely managed to stop playing. Awesome design.
stuck on level 3. maybe if there were more clear instructions...
The spider and the frog can also be dragged.
Ha I missed that there was something that the spider did . I guess I need to read the tutorial much more carefully?
Sorry, I didn’t write that in the tutorial. I only mentioned that the frog can drag objects. I was hoping players would discover this on their own, though it might not be very obvious.
dangerous. On itch IO engagement is fleeting.
Thanks for the reminder. I’ve added an Answer button now, and I sincerely hope you’ll give it another try.
Answer button doesn't seem to do anything. Also I tried interacting with a spider without any insight that the answer button might have given me and I could neither move it nor drag it nor whatever. Engagement... dropping....
When you click the Answer button, the correct frog layout will appear. You can try clicking the Answer button and then clicking Start directly. Also, you can use the frogs to pull the spider.
Going from memory here. It seemed like a no op . Nothing changed visually at all in fact I had wondered if I was even successfully clicking on it if such a thing were possible to not do successfully .
But when I open the webpage and click it, it works. Could there be some strange bug?
