Great game!
I really liked the atmosphere and the small sounds the the backround like the growl. It also reminded me of the backrooms and felt like a maze.
I think it does need some more work though, I think it might need some more hinting at some things a little more because I found the bronze key then opened every door I could find and I just kept running in circles and never found what to do.
Great job!
Also I would really appreciate it if you could give some feedback on my game too :)
Ok man... I really liked the atmorsphere that was nice really well done . But the thing is I really didn't know what i have to do i found the key but i didn't know the directions so i can't figure out which way i have to go in, really would have appreciate if i had a compass or something .
And man damn you made such a big map , i don't know why but it remind me of the backrooms for a bit while exploring . It really felt like a neverending maze.
Really well done I really enjoyed my time playing it.
I would love if u try and rate my game as well .
I'm super glad that the atmosphere I was aiming for landed, I did want to capture some of the eeriness of the Backrooms in there! I did notice that a number of other players also had issues with navigation, so I'll be improving on that after the jam. I'll be sure to give your game a look as well - thanks for playing!
Alrightty... good game man! it was fun, ATMOSPHERE WAS GOOD!!!
But i WANT A TASK SYSTEM MAN!!! i didnt know what to do, also i wasnt able to beat the game, and i think the generator is broken, so yea!
Overall, i liked this game!!! But can be better in future with updates!! good job!
Also could you be able to rate and play my game too pleaseeee? id really appreciate it :)
Appreciate you playing my game! I'm gonna go back in and fix a ton of those issues, so thanks for pointing them out. Before that I'll be sure to check your game out as well :)
โShould have minded your own businessโ
Fun game! I liked the atmosphere. I liked how the lights went out close to the end, this was very spooky! It did take me a while to figure out I needed to look for keys, but once I did figure this out, it was fun to explore the area while looking.
The clues you gave to find the next key was also a good touch, although the direction (North, South, etc.) was not very useful as there was no reference direction, so stating a direction like North doesnโt really mean much.
Also, I was able to turn on the generator without any key since there is no collider on the window tile, so I could walk right through it. And finally, the dialogue from the start of the game stays on the screen for the whole game until you pick up the first key.
Overall, great work! This game was enjoyable to play.
Thanks so much for playing, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'll be updating the game in the near future with your feedback in mind - I'll get around to adding a compass and some signs, as well as address the collider issues across the map and the dialogue bug.
I ran in a circle 5 time lol the atmosphere is nice
Yep, the layout building is pretty much a maze haha - thanks for playing!
I didn't know I was entering a table and chair factory.
Quite frustrating to go around, which if that was the design you achieved what you set out for. Took me forever to figure out that the doors had lights matching the key colors (maybe I just didn't read though) which helped a little. Good entry overall, definitely can see the level design effort in this (last scene was really cool)!
Yeah, navigability and objective clarity are definitely some of the bigger issues I discovered too late into the process of making the game. My original plans for a sprawling map with trap mechanics and navigation tools was way out of scope, even for a 14-day jam. I ended up cutting a lot of features in the final submission, but I also came to realize that the game was lacking in even explaining what the player is supposed to do. I'm planning on brushing up on these weaknesses in the near future (and furnish the place with a little more than chairs and tables...)
Thanks for the feedback!
I feel you can even add more guidance now during game jam. Having something like "hint hint - keyhole have a color that matches the key" and possibly even a rough sketch of the map in the game description could help anyone that feels totally lost. The dialog mentioned some sections of the map and I personally couldn't tell the difference between each LOL
damn such a big map - some of the industrial rooms are really cool - really close to the actual story I think?
Yep! Though, I took some creative liberties with the layout instead of trying to be 100% historically accurate.
