I love rhythm games, so I was really excited to try this :) The music was lovely and really relaxing, the only part that was shocking was the sudden addition of a new button without warning- but really I should have seen it coming when I was looking at the controls ;)
The pixel art was really cute too, I wish I could've seen more of it. It was hard to focus on both the actual rhythm game and what I was creating with it. Maybe showing the completed pattern for a second and then overlaying the finished product would have been enough already, without breaking the flow of the game.
Overall it was sweet, but still challenging. I had to try the last level a few times, but the satisfaction of seeing the pig sweater made it all worth it!
My original msg didn't get posted so posting again. This game was extraordinarily fun! The art, music, game, and "creating"/knitting stuff. Perfect tutorial btw! That was ultimately what sold me from the start that it was going to be a great game. The controls were very intuitive and overall the game was fun. My only complaint was that the darker purple note was a bit hard to see/know I was supposed to press on because it blended in with the bg gameart / looked greyed out.
so simple yet so fun :D its nice to see a rhythm game thats challenging but not too stressful. i agree the difficulty change between the first and second stage is a lil higher than i was expecting but overall it's really fun
Beat Knit! Just Beat Knit! lol Love it, especially the music! The clicking sfx is really satisfying, too. The art is beautiful. Somehow, the knitting square thing in the middle reminds me of Github contribution graph but still beautiful!
Hahaha, OMG it does look like that Github graph! Thanks for the kind words!
Lovely music! Lovely game. I made it to a score of 45 mil. Amazing work y'all!
Great score!

This game makes me reaally nostalgic of old rythm flash games I used to play as a kid! I had a blast!
few note though: sometime the key rhythm seemed a bit random to me, and I still don't know what I think of the playlist... what made the soundtracts chill, made that there was not so many surprises in regard of the rythme: no High, no down, if it make sense... (my english vocabulary is getting short here π)the lack of variety in tempo made the songs feel monotonous. There is a difference between the kind of track you want to put on the background of your study session, something meant to be forgotten about, and a track you want your player to focus on, I believe.
Anyway, I'll keep it in a collection to play it again one day! Really missed this kind of game!
The music, art and gameplay are great but I wish I had more yarn, I am very bad at rhythm games.
Yeepee, fun little rhythm game β|ΛΆΛκ³ΛΛΆ|ββͺ
You did it!!! So many people have (fairly i think!) commented that the game was a bit too hard, so i was wondering if anyone would make it through. Thanks for sharing this :D
Cool concept! I don't usually play rhythm games but I enjoyed this one. It's a little unforgiving for someone who isn't very used to the genre, maybe a peaceful mode would have been nice. Also, I liked the idea with the pixels filling, but I wasn't reallly able to look at it because I was focussing on the beats, it would have been cool to show the pixel painting after you're done knitting as well. The artstyle is very cute as well!
Ah a "zen" mode would be perfect! Good point too about the pixels filing, maybe I'll fix both after the jam. Thanks so much for playing and your kind words.
This game is pretty hard, I think the difficulty jump on level 2 can be attributed to the length of the song, and also the fact that you introduced two button presses. Combining knitting with a rhythm mechanic is very creative, I liked seeing the end product of what I was knitting. The music and art is also very good :)
I think I set the difficulty too high! I'm so glad you enjoyed the art and music. Thanks for playing it!
