Very nice, very tough! Had a lot of fun playing this, picked up the mechanics pretty quickly and had a good laugh when I reached star ox and rolled a few failures. The music is a standout for me, great work

Developer

Thanks a lot ^ ^
I'm glad this time it seems most people picked up the game fairly fast, it was a shame I didn't have enough time to add a tutorial or tooltips

Could use more animations but I quite enjoyed it. I thought the boss fight at the very end dragged on a bit - and I'd have appreciated a proper ending as my reward ^_^;

Developer

Yeah, the boss can take a while depending on if you're engaging with the petrification mechanics and depending on if you picked up any buffs or cards on your journey. And yeah it was a shame I didn't have time for a opening cinematic let alone and ending one.

I'm not particularly good at card games, but I liked your game one a lot. It was fun and very well polished!

Developer

Thanks! Hopefully it was easy enough to make it to the end. I tested with a few friends of various familiarity in card games to try to find a decent balance where the game was engaging while also not requiring you to play super serious

Yes! I made it to the end. The first time I got killed, but that helped me get a hang of how to play it. The second time was easier, and the balance felt good.

I was a little confused at first, but I picked it up pretty quick, and once I did I had a lot of fun playing. This feels really polished for a jam game; the mechanics are solid, and the art is fantastic. Great job!

Thanks so much, I spend a lot of effort trying to polish everything and even spent the last 3 days of the jam mostly fixing bugs to make sure there was as few issues as possible :D

Fun card/deck game. As others have said, a tutorial would be nice. The opponent doesn't severely punish you so learning how to play on the fly was manageable.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I wanted the first few battles to have tutorials for learning about how to use action points and how to block opponents but there were a lot of bug fixes I needed to do near the end and stuff of higher priority came up sadly. But that was only because the first few fights are pretty chill and there's several ways to get health back :)

Pretty damn fun and nice polishing! Balance was surprisingly good too once I figured out some of the elements.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I was slowly balancing stuff around across the last week or so and I think I found a fairly sweet spot thanks to feedback from friends :D

I feel like this could very easily be expanded upon into a full game experience with a tutorial and randomization of a path to the 'final boss' and some other progression elements like achievements or some kind of currency so you can have an edge for future runs :3

The foundation is already there!

Really impressive stuff!! :3
