Very cool atmosphere and art syle!
Played your game and gave my first impressions! Very nice style :-)
This is incredibly valuable to watch, thank you so much!
The guidance through the level can use an update for sure. The main clues right now is the glowing vegetation, but I've noticed several people getting stuck on the same parts of the level as you. We're also thinking about an iteration on the dialog deliverance system, so that it's easier to manage, read and comprehend the different angles. But I was glad to see you've picked up most of what we've put down.
Yeah you should be proud, it was a great experience :-)
BTW: How many people worked on this? The credits had so many names :-) How did you divide up the roles?
There was 6 of us and we're used to working as a team together, so the roles were pretty easy to divide.
The hard part is keeping the vision shared while people start working on their individual corners.
But we were physically together as well, so that helped a lot.
They were sooo cute, but the yellow one kept saying these disturbing thing...
Love the bloom, but would be great if you could customize your gamma at the start of the game.
I remember playing this on another laptop just before the jam ended and it being super dark, but now I can see pretty well which felt like cheating tbh ^^'
Thanks for playing!
The bloom is high on the priority list for sure, so fully agree with your feedback there.
The souls look really good! Navigating the map is a bit annoying though as passages are a bit too easy to miss and you keep getting stuck on steps while going up vertically. Also really liked the choice you have to make at the end.
Thanks for playing!
Level design is a bit rough around the edges at the moment for sure and can do with another pass (or two).
I love the bloom effect, and your font is very cute.
however the game is very dark, I couldn't find a road.
We didn't get to implement a solution for the gamma. That is certainly something we like to add later!
Did you manage to find one of lthe lifes? Once you have one or two of them with you, things get easier to see.
There are 2 pretty close to the entrace, so it might be doable if you want to give it another go.
yeah!
That glow on those little guys... jeez the graphics on this game are INCREDIBLE.
Great presentation, and the story kept me hooked.
Great game. I really enjoyed the vibe and ambiance. I thought the lil guys were very cute and liked how they walked infront of you when they had something to say. Some of the text (especially the purple) was hard to read because of the font and it sometimes clipped into the walls.
Very good overall, visuals, sound, etc...
Nice job! I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Great game :D
I loved the visuals and atmosphere, it is very well done and feels super polished. The little blobs were super cute also :D. It was really sad I had to sacrifice one of them :(
I loved the ambient SFX and the cute dialogue SFX, those were great additions to the game
The map design is also very well done because as long as I kept walking I would eventually find my way and the blobs are short enough distance from each other to keep me going.
I will say there is one problem, I think you were trying to tell a story through the blobs? The first blob was okay to understood most of it when it was just one blob, but the more blobs they were the harder it was to understand cause it felt like they were all telling something different.
But overall, this is a great game jam entry especially considering the time frame this feels super polished already so good job :D
big bug with the web version
Oh no, that's a first!
Thanks very much for testing and letting us know!
- Does the install version run ok on your machine?
- Any information on browser type?
- The OS you're running on?
I am tired, I will try later the windows install. I need a nap. I use windows and Firefox
Thanks for the info, enjoy the nap.
I have the same trouble with other browser games. It’s probably my computer the problem. I will try the windows version of your game soon. And before the end of the jam of course.
Thanks for keeping us up to date.
The game works with the windows built and it’s beautiful. But I am stuck here, the passage seems to narrow for me. Maybe a little jump could help.
Glad to hear it works on windows!
Yeah, that little staircase was a last minute fix for a nav mesh issue, intended to help the 'lives' reach the ending.
The player character can't go up that way in the current build, but it shouldn't be necessary to complete the game.
There's a larger staircase you can get up further back. A jump would've helped here for sure, but would've introduced too much potential to break the rest of the level design to implement near the ending of the jam. :)
Thanks for playing and for giving us your feedback though!
Very much apprectiated.
really lagged on my pc(
but character`s visual is really cute and i like the atmosphere
Hi
Thanks for trying it out. Sorry to hear it ran laggy for you.
Did you play in browser, or did you try the install?
played in browser, maybe this is a reason
There's also a download option if you want to give it another try. :)
Not sure if it would help though, we didn't really get to performance tuning.
I'll play your submission when I get the chance!
Really fun game. Love the ambience and atmosphere. Those souls are so darn cute. The art, animation, are all really well executed. Hats off!
I really liked the atmosphere and the glow effects, they felt great. I managed to collect 2 souls, and I enjoyed how they say random things. It actually made me want to pet them, and it could feel even nicer if they showed small hearts when you do, it would make you feel more connected to them. I couldn’t reach the yellow soul and kind of rage quit at that point, but in a funny way. I’ll probably come back and try again when I have more time. Also, the purple soul’s font was a bit hard to read.
Hey, thanks for playing!
Yeah, some of the souls can be hard to get to.
Tip : if you can see them, but don't have a clear path to them yet, there's another way to get to them, and it's probably not close by. Just keep exploring and you should end up finding them.
Level design could do with a few more iterations for sure :)
I really like the level design and ambience! It was a hard to grasp the story though...
Thanks for playing and your feedback !
