Use of the limitation
The limitation “Only One Life” is built into both gameplay and story. The player has no extra lives or revives. Health is represented by the Thread of Fate, and when it is severed, the run ends. You are the Last Mortal, carrying mankind’s final thread into the underworld.

Too many. The cookies also had only one life!

death to Ares!

I did have to stop because of too much screenshake, would be great to have an option to disable it.
Love how epic it all really is.

I’m really glad the epic feeling came through. And thank you for the screenshake feedback — that’s a very fair point. I’ll definitely look into adding an option to reduce or disable screenshake in a future update.

I reduced the screenshake in the latest build!
Hopefully it should feel much more comfortable to play now.

Nice boss battle mechanics! I couldn't get passed Ares unfortunately but I really enjoyed the controls. Felt really smooth! Just wish the art wasn't AI.

Thank you so much for playing! I’m really glad the controls felt smooth — that means a lot.

Ares was apparently not in a generous mood today 😅

And yeah, I totally understand the AI art point. This was made under jam time pressure, so I used it to help build the atmosphere quickly, but I really appreciate the feedback and respect the concern. I’ll keep that in mind for future updates/projects.

This is the sweetest reply ever. I completely get that, but that's the beauty of jams! It's the courage to be unfinished and have a few things that are just ugly. So excited to see what you make in the next jam. <3
