Man, I just love this one so much. It has a very silly vibe to it which I just adore. The sound effects are really charming, very fitting with the arstyle. The tutorials are simple but very effective, they get their job done perfectly. The gameplay is nothing much, but it introduces new stuff frequently enough that you don't really get bored until the end of the game.

Overall it's a very well made game. It doesn't aim for much, but what it has is almost flawless. Amazing submission, congrats!

Thank you so much for the compliments! And I am really glad that you enjoyed it~

And yeah silliness is kind of my thing and since code and art and sound effect were all done by myself, it kind of exudes from everywhere, haha~

This was a realy cute game. My only note would be that getting the wings should stll let you do short jumps, cause the mobvement is a bit awkward currently.

Developer

Thank you for playing~

And yeah agree. After getting the wings, the movement only makes sense if you stay in the air. But if you touch the ground and then hold jump, it would actually like *shoo* upwards vary fast. I 100% need to tweak it if I am going to develop it further.

The sound effects made my day. Tundundundun out of 10

Developer

haha thank you~ sound effect is probably the most wacky part of  the game because I don't know how to make them yet so I have to record myself doing silly sounds~

This is a lot of fun! The sound effects and evolve animation really pull it together.
One thing I would have liked is some warning when a fish will spawn. I find myself hugging the sides sometimes to avoid fish or catch food, and then a fish spawns on top of me.
All in all, amazing work!

Developer

Thank you~ Glad you enjoyed it~

Yeah, currently the fish does just *pop* into the scene so I agree that I should have added some kind of warning. At first I thought about adding code like "never spawn too near the player" but I ended up not adding it. In retrospect, I should have just determined on which side the player is and spawn on the other side.

Submitted

I totally get it, it's impossible to get it all in for a 48 hour jam. I like the idea of it spawning on the other side from the player.

The evolve animation was pretty epic!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you~ It took me quite some time to get it to work, lol.

I can imagine! It looks great though and I liked the progression that you added to eventually get the shield and even made sure it wasn't OP with the timer on it!

Great work!

The sound effects from evolving did it for me!

Developer

lol glad you like it~

I don't know how to make sound effects yet so I just record them myself lol

Pretty cool game !

The gameplay loop is simple but fun & efficient.
The jump feels a bit floaty at first but you get used to it.
It could also use some more sound effects to make it feels a bit more crisp.

Apart from that, pretty solid entry. Good job :)

Developer

Thank you for playing and the constructive criticism :3

Agree with both your points there, about jump being floaty and better/more sound effects~ Those should be what I focus on learning next. I had been putting them off, lol.
