This was fun!  I played the jam version at first, and unfortunately didn't realize there was no end state - I figured because there was no score being shown, it must have had a finish line that I kept falling short of, so I spent a good chunk of time replaying again and again 😅

I also had a hard time focusing on the movement on-screen - It was never uncomfortable or disorienting (I always knew what killed me, and could see obstacles clearly), but it did mean that the graphics and bits of polish (like the potion puddle filling up below you) washed over me instead of being something that I was able to consciously notice.  I suspect this might be because of how large the game was on my monitor - I couldn't keep much of the scene in my focal area, so I had to focus just on the top of the screen to react to obstacles coming in.

Overall though, well done!  Dodging obstacles felt satisfying, and the soundtrack was a bop :)

I like the style and audio a lot, the color scheme was very pleasant and easy to watch. Some reason it was quite hard to eye to follow vertically moving map. Not sure what is the core reason of that. Maybe it just a quite big movement trying to track obstacles of both sides. But overall very nice concept and liked how satisfying UI was on the menu screen :)

I'm rating this based on the revised version and didn't play the original (if that's ok!). One quick note I have is that it was hard to get the game focused on the screen on the game page; it felt like I had to manually grab the scrollbar in order to get it right. Other than that (and it might be user error lol), IMO the presentation is excellent with the standouts to me being the audio (music, sound, and its balance) along with the smooth factor of the splash screen and the way the buttons change size when mousing over them. So satisfying!

It took me a few plays to "get it" but I enjoyed this action challenge and how the music suits it. I don't think lack of tutorialization hurts this game, but I do think the mushroom hitboxes are too large. I also keep forgetting what my score was when I get a game over because I'm so surprised when I lose. This surprise also speaks to your game being addicting and fun! Thanks for sharing this nice project.

The revised version is pretty much the same as the original except the revised has a scoring system which I wanted to implement in the jam version but I ran out of time. The revised version also has an animated frog in the menu screen. As for the splash screen and menu screen, that's an evolving template I's continually tweaking (and breaking!) and use in all my projects which lets me concentrate on gameplay. As for the tutorial, a lot of my friends I send the game to said the same. Thanks for playing :)

Solid entry! It feels good to play and the only real  comments I have are the story feeling a bit forced on top of gameplay, I partly think just gameplay would of been enough but it's not a bad story and I might be biased as a non writer.

Agreed. The story was definitely shoehorned in to try and make the game feel fuller. You saw through my ruse :)
