This game is absolutely beautiful! I also really loved the concept of as you grow the tree it becomes harder to defend due to it taking less time for the enemies to make it to the tree. I had quite a lot of fun playing this!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah your correct! The limitation was pretty broad and decided to implement it into the story element rather than the gameplay!
Fun game and well done, especially for your first jam! Not too big of an issue, but the choice between upgrades ends up being a bit meaningless when you end up getting multiple of the same upgrade to choose from, especially if one of them is just a better version.
Your correct! There shouldn't be multiple of the same upgrades at one time. Don't tell anyone what all the upgrades have the same chance of appearing ;)
