Unity Dev (simulations over-planner looking to shrink focus) LFG

I'm an experienced dev, I have yet to release a real world game and I'm keen to break that habit (over-commit to massive systems building, moving on before completing gameplay)
If there's an artist and sound creator who'd be happy to work on a simpler casual game here with aim to keep working together should it go well, let me know here. I have 2-4h a day generally, will prototype with AI generally but have coded in Unity before AI code-dev and will always be hands-on the code side before releasing anything.
I've build card-based, 2D side-scroll and 3D in Unity, I used to build for VR in Defence Industry and I have a background in User Design.
There's a couple of previous AI-prototype games on itch.io that I'm reworking into more complete versions as and when I get inspired.

Have a couple of artist friends will help so just keen for a SFX handler / artist. I own a number of unity packs with sound, someone who can sort through and find stuff that works together to make a cohesive soundscape would be great. Other 3D / 2D artists also still welcome to pitch in.

I'm creating a recruitment board, are you just looking for sound designers and artists for your team? What's your team's timezones?

AUS Sydney (GMT+10)

Yes, sound and a Unity familiar artist would be great.

Thanks for setting up a board, good idea

No worries, here's a link if you'd like a peruse: /jam/indie-game-clinic-collab-jam-26/topic/6286424/-the-recruitme...

If no one else is showing interest, I could join. I've not done much sound implementation in engine but I don't think it would be too hard to set up a sound manager. I've been trying to focus on minimising scope/focusing on MVP recently so can hopefully help rein you in a bit. I've also got some 3D skills and I don't mind pairing on code either if that helps.

2 issues though:

  • There's a 9 hour difference between us
  • I'm away from home and likely to have only a couple of hours in the evenings free for the next few weeks. I'm off work on the second week of the jam (still busy but can manage my time) so could potentially catch you in your evenings. I should be able to bring my samples and SFX with me and get FL Studio set up on my laptop.

I just threw some stuff onto Soundcloud if you want an example of some of my sound design/production: https://soundcloud.com/comradeclout

sounds good to me. Ill have a look tomorrow and check with the team. No pressure for much time commitment, all good!

Yeah I like it. I think that makes us a team of "4", other 2 will be slightly minimal art assistance.
Time difference should be ok - we can discord to negotiate what work is available.

Sounds good, here's my discord: @comradeclart
