The amount of features and polish you were able to fit into this given the scope of the jam is amazing. I really dig the visuals and the audio, and it's so impressive that you were able to include multiplayer as well.

I will admit, I felt a little lost when I was playing the game. I think when people are trying out new games in the context of the game jam, they probably need a lot more handholding. But I was able to spectate an AI vs AI game to figure things out (again very impressive you were able to add that).

Wow, such a complex game, you deserve a medal for this. You did a great job.

This is a solid game for a jam, definitely not a small project. Despite some issues with unit navigation, it’s still fun. I understand how to play, but I have no idea what the buildings actually do. A tutorial explaining that would really help.

Developer

Will add tons of new content post jam!

You have a lot of talent, which is incredible for a game jam. But in this type of game, with so many variables to consider, you can't just assume players will figure out what to do and how to do it. It's a niche field, so experienced players will know what to do, but you lose the opportunity for new people to get involved.

Yes I agree, it seems that I have assumed the controls and the objective of a RTS to be intuitive and natural since I grow up playing RTS, participating the game jam made me learn a lot about UXUI and game feel/experience in general!

really makes me think of command and conquer. I was really digging the soundtrack and the voices

This game looks amazing! As other have said already, it gives off heavy C&C vibes. Truly well made 😎

Developer

That is what I had in mind most of the time when building the game haha

Didn't expect a jam game to be this big. That's truly impressive!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, multiplayer! I love this game. You could also consider adding more content or game modes to expand it further.

Developer(+1)

I will definitely add more stuff post jam, stay tuned!

Thats an impressingly "complete" game, i like the instantly familiar C&C feeling.

The "double" fog of war (not explored trerrain / currently not visible by any unit terrain) is nice too

Developer

Glad that you enjoyed the game! The vision of the game is to make a 90s RTS with the modern refinements, like the fog of war

reminds me of command and conquer. nice work!

That was surprisingly engaging!  I'm not usually a big player of RTS games, but I enjoyed this.  I'd have liked a little more feedback while placing refineries (often couldn't tell where I could or could not place them, or whether or not they'd do anything useful when I did place them there - I ended up with a couple harvesters just sitting around, maybe one was stuck, one was just slightly too far from ore, maybe?).  The tech tree felt very fleshed out, that's a lot of buildings and units!

Developer

Glad that you enjoyed! The refinery bug is something I tried to fix for quite a while, but it still sometimes bugs out...

reminds me of c&c :) nice work

Developer(+1)

It is more or less I am going for in feel and implementation, thanks!

Fun game and feels surprisingly complete for a jam submission. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I am glad I kinda pulled it off in this jam!

looks so good

Solid game

Impressive work. Finding hard to believe you did all this in the jam 2 weeks though lol

Developer

You will be amazed with the right set of tools, how much progress you can get... I am happy that I can pull this off in the jam.

A full blown RTS?! Great UI too. Impressive work!

Wooo, Old Command and Conquer back! You sent me down a nostalgia trip with this game. I loved old C&C. The art is pretty cool and I really liked the audio. The audio is perhaps the second biggest part that made me remember old C&C.

My only gripe was that in Skirmish the game was really laggy and I wasn't able to play well. That said, the amount of work you must have put in a game like this... that is a lot of work. Gotta say, well done, great work! You captured the old feel pretty well.

Tharsis: Martian Combat was really nostalgic. Making a game like this in such a short time is amazing. It brought back a lot of memories! But I was a little confused at times about what I needed to do, but overall I really enjoyed it.

That was an interesting way to reimplement classics of the genre. The sound was great, and the narrator’s voice felt the same as C&C. I think the pathfinding and collision detection were the main issues for me to really enjoy skirmishing against AI. Also, I believe AI is cheating with total map vision and being able to place buildings even if they are far away from the base.
