In the Hall of the Gear Machines feels like it was made for me. I love dwarves. I love machines. Put them together with tower defense? That's a winning formula.

The core mechanic stands out: you're not just placing defensive structures — you're buying, positioning, and aligning cogs to actually power the dwarven machinery. It adds a thoughtful, tactile layer that most tower defense games lack.

The music has a pleasant, hypnotic loop that fits the underground dwarf aesthetic perfectly. And the art? Gorgeous. Rich, warm, and full of character.

The gameplay is easy to grasp but stays interesting throughout. No unnecessary complexity — just smart, satisfying design.

Overall, a solid game. Really well done

I won without even assembling a money machine :). Although I think if you try, you can arrange the gears better to achieve the goal, in any case, a great game!

The graphics and music immerse you in the game atmosphere.

Maybe it would be even more fun to play if there were cooperative or multiplayer modes.

It was fun, congratulations!

Thanks for playing the game and sharing your impressions!

I also think a two-player co-op game would be interesting, we even thought about it a little after your comment

I like your art style🤩🤩. If I may suggest, could you add a lock feature to the gear? Because a few times I’ve accidentally touched the gear and moved it.

Developer

Thank you! The blocking feature is interesting, but it's not entirely clear how it could be implemented. So that it would be convenient for the player.

Wow. I mean. WOW! I don't know what to compliment because this game is good in every way. The mechanic, the gameplay, and the visuals are 10 out of 10. Well done!

Developer

Thanks a lot, glad you liked it!

A very well made and scoped game. I wish there was a little more easing into the gear mechanic/lore exposition in general but one of the better games i've played over the last few days. Hope you keep developing it!

Developer

Thank you, yes, we’re planning to improve the game based on game jam feedback

I loved the "tower defense" concept, its simplicity, and the player's need to align the pieces. If I had to suggest something, I'd say increase the time between enemy waves so the player can collect more gold and rearrange pieces. Aside from that, you have plenty of material to create hundreds of levels.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We were tweaking the wave balance and timing at the very last minute, so there’s definitely room for improvement there. :)

This is great.  The gears fit together so satisfyingly and it is a really fun idea.  The artwork is interesting and cohesive (the water looks amazing).  I think this is my highest rated game so far.

I did come across something that you might want to think about - several times, when I was trying to drag the screen, I accidentally clicked on a gear and moved it out of position, causing the machine to stop working.  I thought, I wish I could do something, like lock the gears down or use a different button for the screen and the gears, so this wouldn't happen.  At the current pace of the enemies,  it didn't really cause much trouble, but if maybe at a higher level, the enemies are faster/more powerful, accidentally stopping the machine might be very detrimental.

Good luck with this one!  I think it has high potential.

Developer

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! We did try to balance the screen navigation with the gear dragging, but it clearly needs more polish. We're planning to rework robot controls in the future probably alongside with some changes to the camera movement.

I have seen a lot of gear assemble games in the jam and I can say this is one of the best one I played, very great work

Developer

Thanks a lot! We really appreciate it! :)

This is like Kingdoms with cogs, and the graphics are smooth, I love it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I really love Kingdom for its simplicity, and the water shader is a direct reference to that game! :)

Really impressive entry! The gear-connecting mechanic feels satisfying and unique. The art style and polish are well above jam standards. Loved it!

Developer

Thank you so much! Happy to hear you liked it!

Fun and intuitive! Connecting the gears to power buildings is a great mechanic. The drag-and-drop controls feel smooth

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Making the gear connections feel smoth and intuitive was one of our main goals, glade you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Really smartly designed game! I had a lot of fun connecting gears to make the machines work. I also liked how each gear had different properties, and how they could wear down over time, which made the gameplay more thoughtful and engaging.

Developer

Thank you! The gear wear down mechanic still needs some balancing and finetuning, but it's really great to hear that you enjoyed it anyway! :)

Nice gameplay combination of towerdefense and gears-puzzle.

It took me a while until I figured out, that the gears need to be attached to a background-wall, but it makes sense :-)

Great entry!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I think we'll outline the walls (while holding the gear) to more clearly show the player where to place them later

This was a super cool idea for a game! Had a lot of fun working out how to put the gears together to fight off the enemies. Great job! :)

Developer

Thank you!

Yay, another cogs puzzle! (mine is called COGS). Your game is fun and super impressive visually and technically
