vid:

nothing really to comment on

did some story, some solo, I still found myself sucking at the game

the cutscenes and stuff are really coming along nicely, especially the ui it's so satisfying to use

great job, it's so fun to see this game evolve over time

Thank you so much for the video! It's very helpful!
I'm glad you like the game's presentation. I'll add some more quality of life updates like skippable cutscenes (for the intro scene in the VN) and a simple playable tutorial in the Story Mode.

Thanks again, you are the best!

Insanely polished game in every way. And rolling the dice is honestly much more engaging than it seems. I will go for a 6 digit score for sure.

The only nitpick I really have, especially in a game this polished is that the last word on a line sometimes jumps to the next line while it's being typed.

Wow that's a really nice score for a first timer! Thank you so much for your nice comments!

Believe me, that bothers me too! I'm still trying to figure out how to fix that! (ㅠ﹏ㅠ)

Thanks again for the nice comment! Let's keep at it!

Havnt played many games from demo days yet, but you definitely made me regret my previous life choices. Absolute cinema. At first i doubted the gameplay a little bit. The characters in the story are so far a little bit plain, but the animations and sounds make them charming, and being thrown into the first level is scary, especially because i had no experience with the game. I still managed to get it done on my first try. I then tried the challenger mode 3 times which lasted for around 10-15 minutes each match. My highscore so far is only a measly 29700. But i felt like i was mostly just circling the board until i saw something line up well, instead of actually thinking which way i need to go for a good setup. So i decided to watch the tutorials and play the puzzles afterwards. Got stuck on 1-10 as i didnt want to do too many turns, and got 2 star everywhere except on 1.6 and 1.9. I like puzzle games, but this one makes me feel retarded. I cant even fathom how much youd have to practice to intuitively see and setup combos.  The puzzles are setup well, they teach you harder and harder patterns after another. The dice setup is also simple enough to memorize patterns, but complex enough to not become as monotonous as something like minesweeper. I think the premise is interesting, and i wonder if there is even anything to push it further. Ill def play more of this, especially when i want to relax, as it doesnt feel like brainrot at least and makes you think spatially.

Character wise Mimi and Pero are my favourites. The game feels wholesome and im happy that it is that way. The landscapes and backgrounds are nice, but tend to feel a little bit too nonsensical at times. I went through the art folder and looked at them in more detail. The town with the fountain image as an example has 2 random houses in the distance that almost look mirrored. There is also barely anything close to them, Which makes it a little bit off putting. The houses have some variance, but the silhouette of the houses are all of the same floor height when cutting into the clouds and the distances between the houses also feel too similar. The simple style definitely works wonders, but instead of placing random triangles all over the floor, it would be nice if the shapes would have an more overarching shape to it to read better. The inside view of the room and the path to the academy have nice floor shapes in contrast imo. Im not sure if the marketplace is a newer image, but there as an example you put more of the triangles in the foreground which helps the scene a lot. The houses in the background also have a more unique silhouette. The blue tint is also a big improvement. If that artwork was made later you improved a lot and i might not even have needed to state the things prior. The small witch house with the trees and especially the academy are really good pieces. Your trees have lovely shapes. I think the bricks in the walls could be clumped slightly more as they create right now a little bit too much noise, which clashes with the building being in the distance imo. But you left enough space empty for it to not be too noticeable.

Im looking forward to seeing more, only reason i stopped for now was to test out more demo days, ill def look more into the build later on. Tbh i think the biggest problem right now might be catching people at the beginning, but once you start to pay a little bit more attention you see the fun in it. The challenger mode in particular is def going to replace my sudoku and minesweeper time ahaha.

Thank you so much for your very kind comments! I really appreciate it.

I'm going to try to ease up the Story Mode experience a bit. I’ll figure out a way to better explain the mechanics in the first episode while also reducing the difficulty for that specific level.

It looks like you played for quite a while! Between the Challenge Mode rounds and the other content, did you play for about an hour and a half? I’m glad you enjoyed it, and a score of 29,700 is actually very good for a first-timer! I’m assuming you reached level 20 in the Challenge Mode?

Regarding the backgrounds: the town plaza is by far my least favorite too, haha! I’d like to replace that one eventually, either before or after the full release. Thank you for the detailed feedback on the visuals; I’ll definitely take those notes into account.

Tbh i think the biggest problem right now might be catching people at the beginning...

I am definitely aware of this. There is an initial "threshold" for new players that can be tough, but once it finally "clicks," people really start to love the game. I’m thinking of ways to make that introduction more pleasant. I also understand the game might not be for everyone.

By the way, you can also play the game casually in windowed mode like this (see attached pic). I intended for it to be a chill experience, similar to Minesweeper like you mentioned.

Thanks again! I hope to see you at the next DD!

Highscore 1290961!? I suppose you gave me a new goal.
Im happy to hear that you were already aware of most of the things i wrote. The windowed mode is such a good feature. When i stopped playing it was around 70-80 minutes. But it should be around 2 hours by now. :>

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much lol! You are the best!

By the way, my actual high score is 10,514,256 points at level 332. I keep deleting the high score entries to test new things.

Bruh, this intro feels WAY too intense for such a lighthearted game lmao. It'd also be nice if I could skip through some of the text faster, especially at the beginning. And is there a way to re-read previous lines?

What determines when you get a game over? While I was playing Challenge mode, the board was almost completely full, but there was at least one more move I could've made, but I still got a game over before I was able to do it.

Developer(+1)

Haha, I like the story like that.
I'll try to include a skip mechanic for the first cutscene so it can jump straight to the playable VN sequence.

About the dialogue, there is a way to re-read previous lines. If you open the menu at the top right of the UI, there's an icon that looks like a 'message log'. Clicking that will show you the history of the conversation so far.

The game ends once the board is full. In your case, it looks like you moved at the exact moment a final tile appeared; even though you cleared it, the game had already registered the board as full. This is actually intended behavior by the way.

Thank you so much for your comment! I'll play your game as well soon.

Video Feedback:

My big issue with the game is that you give me 10 minutes of dialog and story building only to throw me into a stressful situation with no experience of playing your game. The 'How To Play' section should be seen as a bonus way to learn the game.  I'd expect the story mode to give me a couple of easy puzzles in a dream sequence or something.

Developer

Thank you for the video feedback! That was very helpful!

First time playing this, really fun. Here's a gameplay recording.

I think demo should have a stronger cliff hanger as an ending. Currently I'm not even sure what's the significance of what Teresa did. Was it even a big deal? Did Teresa start some chain of events? Did something change about the island or people? Did she attract attention of mysterious forces or something? Whatever happened feels too vague to leave me wondering what's gonna happen next.

The graphics look very pretty and well made. The sprite animations during VN parts look nice and dynamic. Everything feels very polished and high quality.

The gameplay is really absorbing, especially the puzzles. I got all stars on both levels. The ability to undo during puzzles makes it really fun and spares a lot of annoyance. Can't say much about timed challenges because I don't feel skilled enough yet to enjoy them properly.

It'd be more convenient if exiting a puzzle opened the page of that puzzle. After completing level 2 I still had some stars to earn on level 1 so I had to manually return to page 1 each time. I imagine in full game with more levels, having to click through multiple page could get annoying.

Developer

Thank you for playing through the demo! Ideally I would have liked to include both episodes of the PROLOGUE CHAPTER, but I only managed to finish the first one for this build. In the second (and final) episode of this chapter, there will be a big cliffhanger that ties into the rest of the story and sets the main plot in motion.

Point taken on your feedback, I will keep it in mind. You actually played the game for quite a while! I noticed the video is 1h40mins long! Thank you so much for that, It was an excellent video feedback!

I’ll be sure to check out your game soon as well! Thanks again for the kind words.

The intro needs the same some sort of skip mechanism as the rest of the in-game text. Not because I don't care, and want to skip the whole thing, but because when I've read a line, don't want to wait 4 more seconds for the next one.

If I'd have to describe the overall vibe of the Story Mode, I would call it endearing. Characters are archetypal, but they are executed well, and got chemistry. You start to care. Looking forward to seeing more, and how the other characters from the challenge screen fit into it.

I have wrote the game off as "not my kind of game", but I swear it's like it clicked halfway through. Then I lost the focus again, and went back to being bad, but that is a really engaging puzzle here, with room for the player's skills to grow. Found no bugs.

Developer

I'll try to include a skip mechanic for the first cutscene so it jumps straight to the 'playable' VN part.
I'm also glad that you managed to play a good chunk of the game, I understand that it is not for everyone and it requires some practice before it finally clicks for most people

Thank you so much for your nice comments! I'll try your game soon as well!

I tried to play your game using the Forward Plus download. The game launched with 70% of the game on one of my monitors and 30% on my others. I played around with the display modes in the menus but it didn't look like it did anything.

I'm just using a basic 2 monitor extended display with Windows 10. The image below is what it looks like on my left monitor and my right monitor. Starting and restarting the game did nothing.

Developer

It's a bug that happens sometimes, I haven't gotten to fix it yet. Usually restarting the game fixes it, so if it happened again it must just have been bad luck.
You can also try setting it up in widowed mode, moving it to your desired monitor and then setting it up to fullscreen back again.
Thank you for trying it.

nice animoo premise, story, and art style. opening cutscene has to be skippable or at least faster though. could see this be successful in its niche, no complaints.

Thank you for your nice comments! I'll try your game soon!
