Nice prototype. Netcode seems to be a bit finnicky - characters seemed to be synced properly, but I was getting hit by something constantly. Definitely needs some sort of a... not a tutorial, but a demonstration of what this game is. It seems to be different enough from minecraft to be a bit confusing, especially with crafting.
Thanks for checking it out brim. It was definitively very valuable to see you play both in terms of seeing the user experience but also seeing the current state of the networking. I took plenty of notes and have already ironed out most of the issues. I don't see myself putting in visual instructions this early on, but I've taken the time to make sure that all the hotkeys are displayed not only on the itch.io page but also now in-game.
I just played the game! I tried my best to find the treasures, I believe I did find one while digging close to the X mark on the map, since when I heard a different sound while I was digging around that area.
I couldn't manage to craft anything, I should have experimented more but at the moment I wasn't able to do so. Unfortunately my playthrough stopped when I clipped through a block, I tried swimming around the island and then when I wanted to get back, I somehow managed myself to get stuck by the shore, so I had to restart all over again.
It is an interesting game though! I would have liked to try it in multiplayer.
Thanks for playing eldelnacho! The crafting kinda expects that you're familiar with the recipes in minecraft but can also be figured out trough intuition sorta. In the current build it is expected that you get a pick axe for treasure 2 and onwards. The clipping trough the block is interesting. I've not had anyone I know encounter that yet. I'm curious to know how you managed that so I can try to fix it.
i found my first treasure naturally but the second literally was not physically there. i knew i was in the right spot, i dug a massive crater around it, and even used the debug beams that tell you were it is. but it wasn't there.
i assume that's a bug or something unfinished, idk.
anyway i like the idea and it's very pleasant to play right now already
The first treasure is at dirt layer. But for the 2nd and 3rd you need to craft a pickaxe so you can get trough stone. I hope this was the case and that there isn't some rare bug where it falls trough the world as the chests got physics enabled. Thank you so much for playing!
The vibes are nice, but i had a hard time finding whatever i was supposed to be finding. I think the 2nd track is kinda loud. it was pretty fun figuring out what things meant with the minimalist details/instruction.
Dag around for a while where X marked the spot, but didn't find anything as far as I can tell. There was a point though where the dirt dug up made clanking sound, but then I ran out of them. As far as I can see nothing is broken, though once fell down the island, there is no way back but to reset.
Hi! Thanks for trying out the build! Actually finding the treasures ends up being too tedious alone right now as there can be too much surface area to cover. I'll have to figure something out! The "clanking sound" you heard means that you were only a couple of blocks away from finding your first treasure. Again, thanks for taking your time to try it out.
No problem. I've dug a giant hole around the clanking sound until I've ran out of ground, down to the bedrock. Not 100% if it works as intended or not.

Otherwise - a very cool prototype!

Thank you cow friend! Getting to look at you play is awesome. It made it super clear that I need to adjust some things.

Oh! I'll see if I can adjust that. I can see how that would be really confusing.
