I played on both keyboard and controller. The README file says mouse to control the camera on keyboard but that didn't seem to work. I switched to controller and the camera did move fine, aside from that it feels much better suited on controller anyway. The game seems like it's really coming together now compared to when I last played it. I do like the new characters, I'm surprised that you changed them to animal characters but it works.  Air controls feel a bit imprecise, the camera stuttered a bit on one of those cannon things on the first level. You may wanna nerf the dash move or buff the regular jogging/run button depending on how you wanna balance the game. It can be a bit unclear which button on the menu is highlighted when first starting so I guess that could use some adjustment.  It's definitely improved overall though and I enjoyed playing it.

Overall it feels nice. I like both the characters and the levels.

The controls felt a little awkward at moments; it’s hard to explain, but at times it feels more like tank controls than standard 3D platformer movement. For example, when trying to make simple turns at short distances, it felt like I had to do a full 'driving' turn instead of a quick snap turn. This made precise jumping especially difficult.

I think this 'driving' movement should only be active once the character is moving at high speeds, rather than at walking speeds. I hope this makes sense.

For the rest of the game, I have no complaints. The rest is just the usual dev polish that comes with time.
Nice work!

I'm on a Linux/X11 host for this report with mouse and keyboard

  • I got the camera stuck above the player. I tried to adjust camera to Free Mode to fix this maybe, but the setting changes during gameplay seem to not save. Only from the options menu in the main menu does it seem to save. Also the free camera requires the option for mouse being enabled, which is not entirely intuitive right now.
  • UI menus mouse being clickable would be nice, I keep trying to click them!

I reset a few times, the furthest I got was here so far

Squirrle and Racoon!? Sing me in!

Great visual changes. I loved the small details, like when you grab the underwater sunburst, the mouth of the character was as if they were holding their breath haha.

I had the same issue this time with the boss, were it would not spawn the first time I got to the lava pool. I entered the power plant, died inside, and when I reached the lava pool again, then the boss spawned.

I noticed there are a couple of small "corridor" areas like on the picture below. Unless you plan to add stuff to these areas in the future, like small collectables, I don't think you need them. They entice you to explore, only to reach a dead-end.

Inside the power plant, it is very fun to try to do the challenges "in one go", preserving momentum, but by doing that it is very easy to die, then re-spawn all the way at the beginning of the level. So I think you should add a checkpoint inside the power plant, at the door.

On the conveyor belts, my initial reaction was to jump at the very end, for the momentum to fly me over. But I noticed that kills your vertical momentum. You need to just let the conveyor belt "do the jump for you". I feel like both options should be valid.

Lastly, inside this 2D section, when doing these "loops(?)" my reaction was to first hold [Right], then [Left], as I'm upside down, but that made the character freakout, and I got stuck inside the collisions, with no way of escaping. Perhaps as you are still prototyping and ironing things out, add a button in the options to "reset" or "unstuck".

But overall I had a lot of fun. Keep it up!!

played on mouse and keyboard, switched to ps5 controller when camera wouldnt respond to mouse movement

  • its fun! going fast and snaking around is still epic and i like navigating the obstacles in the lava world
  • the 2d section in the lava world threw me off, it seemed like enemies can walk off the axis? I also just stopped dead mid boost jump during this section while holding right and died
  • the star that requires you to boost around the pipes to get enough angular momentum to get a big jump was my favorite one, a really cool use of the physics
  • i ended up getting stuck between the conveyer belt and platform in the lava world and soft-locking
  • I like the new character designs, the furry mafia will be pleased.

I will probably come back to this and try the new boss. Keep up the good work
