Nice to see a game made in Defold, really hoping that it keeps getting better so that I can eventually justify switching over to it.  The shield/shoot mechanic is good, though it would help a bit if the boss telegraphed it's moves to let the player know what to expect a little. Good work!

Developer

I am working in making it better. I'm still working on the first boss design because I want to make it look kinda like a turtle-tank to have a feeling similar to what I did with the playing characters

As was said before in the comments. The graphics look very nice, the only problem is with the sound design of the game. Thanks for the project!

Developer

Thank you too much for playing my game (read in Mario's voice XD). I know, but I am just starting and I know nothing about sound effects so I tried to make things work the best I could... I spend a lot of time creating the characters because I plan to have 6 of them, so I still have a long road ahead

Smooth and fun, just needs a bit more sound to feel complete.

Developer

Thank you very much! I'm honored you've played it. I am working on improving the graphics for the enemies, then I want to move on to the sounds but I really have no idea what I am gonna do... maybe add some techno XD

The game is really cute, and the movement feels snappy. Having a variety of different enemies was also really cool. Just lacked some audio. I had fun playing it

Developer

Thank you very much! It makes me feel hapy that you had fun playing it, and yes, the sound is a highly requested feature but I'm on my own on this so it has to wait until I learn how to do that :D

I love the concept here. I love just having one shot you've got to collect and the team mate to help you.

Couple of small bugs. Hitting replay doesn't loop you back to the main menu (at least it didn't for me)

"Bug" but I'd work on maybe the rescue feature, so sort of indicator (outside of the blinking light) would be nice to make sure it's registering AND so the player can time out how much longer they need to stay in one place.

Good job! This was a fun one. Look forward to some audio also.

Thanks for the feedback, I am aware of the bugs and I kinda want to have a timer for the rescue task kinda like baby mario in super mario world 2 but I am working right now in new designs for the enemies, yesterday I created my first pseudo-3d enemy using sprite stacking and I liked the contrast between the two styles, vector for player and pseudo-3d for enemies. Audio will be my next challenge since I am a web developer and I am just learning by doing

You game is super cool. I am also a Latam developer and I love your story of making games with your daughter.

I make games with my son and I have a blast doing it. Best of luck in the future!

Wow! Thanks a lot! This is my first time creating a game for real and participating in a game jam. I am willing to improve and complete my game since this is just a demo for some of its mechanics. It's good to know that the parent/child breach is not so high right now.
