  • Clever use of the theme, good concept Needs a more work on the aesthetic front
  • A great small idea executed very well. It was almost like a puzzle when solving for TODs. Standard MUGEN/IKEMEN fare as far as features and presentation. But the core gameplay concept is solid.
  • Simple style but a nice start. Holding up and not jumping was a little odd feeling or at least unexpected with how much negative space there was above the small characters.
  • The art style is great, the characters are well animated and feel good to press buttons with. The gimmick fits the jam prompt and encourages labbing out some big combos. With a litle more content (new characters, some bespoke menus, maybe an arcade ladder) this could be something special.
  • I love landing ToDs so this game is wonderful, I hope that eventually the default MUGEN assets and sounds could potentially be changed to be original and this will be even better.
  • Fits the theme to a T. For players that suck at links, though, the game ends up very hard to play, even at low level. The idea though is intriguing and the character art/design is great. Feels sick once you nail a TOD the first time!
  • A cool take on the "All Or Nothing" gimmick, centering it around combos, which I personally prefer as an idea compared to a lot of the one-hit-kill games. It runs into problems as Koneko seems wayyyy better at comboing than Katyusha to the point where I'm not sure if the latter is actually able to TOD without super, whereas the former just wins off of any hit. That being said, the concept is still cool, and I quite like the character designs. P.S, for future reference, to turn off jumps, use assertspecial(NoJump) and have it always be active; it disables the hardcoded jump state transition.

The Neo Geo Pocket inspired sprites do look really great alongside the HUD. I can definitely say that I do struggle doing the infinites, but that's more of a skill issue on my part. The only thing I dislike is the lack of changes to the current screenpack, it really does break my immersion to the game.

FAVE BABE/HUNK SPOTLIGHT

Every comment/review shall contain whoever I deem the best character in terms of design/personality/style!

THE CHOSEN: Katyusha

WHY: Her design feels much more original than Koneko, and I think the dangerous red eyes look awesome.
