Absolutely amazing. Synergies feel great. Kinda ignored hole upgrades, but I dig the humor.

Failed on the first run, succeeded on the second run.

My only feedback would be - please add some sort of progress bar to the "accumulating" items, like knives - because I'd love to see how many would be launched next round.

Otherwise - amazing stuff. Absolute heroin in digital form.

I'm glad you had fun! A small progress bar is a smart idea i'll look into it altho it might be hard to make it look good and easy to understand what it means at a first glance. I could also update the description with the amount of knives that'll be shot next round.

tl;dw I had a lot of fun. Got past 36, pure dopamine ass game. Don't really have anything to really comment on, it feels very complete already. I think there was maybe one bug when I got phantom balls exit where it would launch my slotted balls randomly when I wasn't pushing left click, not sure. Good luck with release.

Thanks! i'm glad you enjoyed it! i'll check the video out!

Got to round 36(no failing to meet goals) then decided to leave it there. I didn't blow the points out of the water, but at times I was doubling/tripling the required score. By the last round it was pretty close.

I'm somewhat surprised you're doing a Inscryption by having a dark moody room where you play the game. Mainly since the game doesn't really have a horror feel at all, though it does have a hell set dressing I guess. Besides looks, it's also very casual since it's mostly spray and pray that you get enough points.

When the boss round says you can't use the first item slot, it means you can't click drag the item inside it. The only way to swap it out is if you drag another item onto it. I assume that's a bug, because for instance if you only had 1 item you couldn't move it into the 2nd or 3rd slot if you wanted. Speaking of moving, I somewhat expected that I could move the special pegs around on the board. If you don't want that, then I would have expected to choose which peg gets the upgrade.

Due to random chance I only got a couple Item Shops in the early game, so at the end I only had 3 items. Not sure if I could have upgraded to 4 or 5 slots or not, which would make the winning margin even easier.

It took me several boss rounds to realize that the difficulty increase was for the rest of the run, due to the name it sounded like a 'this set of rounds is the boss' or something. Maybe small, but consider choosing a name more obviously for a creeping difficulty, like 'enter the next layer of hell' or some such.

Thanks for the feedback anon, wont update the demo for now but i did fix some of the stuff you said like the boss, making the difficulty increase clearer and making the item shops more likely to appear early on

Really nice presentation and tutorial. The art style reminds me of some flash games that really stood out, like Zombotron for example. The 3D area is a nice touch too. I agree with Penguin Garden that the lives indicator looks like it can be hit, my first shot was towards it, good thing it was during the tutorial. Really fun and solid gameplay loop, best of luck with development!

I played it a lot, it's really addictive! I died shortly after round 36 on both runs, I though I had a good strategy the second time around but I guess not..

A few nitpicks: The thing that shows your lives looked like an obstacle at first because the cannonball path goes under it. I didn't really get why the timer only works on the last ball which made me get some items that turned out to be not as good as I thought. The boss stages say that you need "double" the score so at first I thought I had to have double the target but it just calculates it for you.

I really like how you can combine items even though I didn't understand it all that well at first and I'm pretty sure I made some of my items worse the first time I tried it. It opens up a lot of possible combinations, especially if more items get added later on.

Good work so far, I'd like to see more in the future. Curious what the 3d area is going to be used for

Thanks for your feedback! I'll move the hand holding your lives that's a good idea. and yeah it also scales very fast after round 36 to put an end to your run.

I enjoyed it a lot! The 3D starting area was really cool, not at ALL what I was expecting, and the plinko gameplay was simple enough. I managed to get (can't remember the names verbatim so bare with me) 2 devil deals, a knife shower and a couple other things which steam rolled me through the game with easy 90k every round. I'm keen to see where you'll take this in the future!

Thanks a lot anon, theres nothing to do in the 3D world but there will be eventually!

I keep getting invalid zip archive when I d/l this?

Developer (1 edit)

Weird, maybe it's because I zipped it with winrar and changed it to .zip after?  I've reuploaded it

This was actually pretty fun. I lost track of time while playing it.

What's the purpose of having to hold RMB in order to drop a ball? Seems like you could just press LMB, and nothing else would change.

At some point i thought i might include some one time use power-ups and stuff like that and i didnt want the player to launch a ball by mistake while trying to click a power-up pretty much. You can also move/drag your items around before you shoot your first ball and if i remove the hold RMB to shoot it can get a little bit awkward and you might shoot your ball by mistake. Thanks a lot tho i'm glad you enjoyed it!
