Description
For this music jam, I wanted to create a melody centered around a fantasy weapon and setting. I took heavy inspiration from World of Warcraft and my own character’s lore, aiming to craft something that could fit as a Mythic dungeon weapon drop.

For the melody, I focused on something clear and distinctly Night Elf-inspired, using flutes, light pads, and transitions between different “zones.” I originally planned to make tracks for three specific Shadowlands areas (Ardenweald, Oribos, and Zereth Mortis), but instead chose to weave smaller elements of each together into a single cohesive track.

The weapon I designed is a two-handed druid staff called The Null Meridian, built around the identity of the Balance specialization. With Nature and Arcane magic being central to that playstyle, I wanted the weapon and the music to reflect the harmony and tension between those two forces.

Stats:
The Null Meridian
Item Level 226
Binds when picked up
Two-Hand Staff

+682 Intellect
+1,024 Stamina
+185 Haste
+172 Mastery

Equip: Your damaging and healing spells have a chance to trigger Meridian Alignment, increasing your Haste and Mastery by 420 for 12 sec. During this effect, your spells count as both Lunar and Solar Eclipses.

Meridian Alignment:
Chance on spellcast: ~2 procs per minute (PPM)
Duration: 10 sec
Internal Cooldown: 2 min

**As usual for the art, I made the cover art to show the design of the staff/environment.**

I really like this! The beginning is calm and mysterious with a strong ambient feel. The shift around 1:59 into something darker is really beautiful, and I love the high notes. They feel really cool and enchanting :)

Really great ambience.

I feel like the melodic nature is a little more ambiguous and out of the way for the purpose of the jam, but the composition is overall quite impactful and enjoyable.

Great work! :)

Overall it gives me a dark, ambient and mysterious vibe, although the bell melody is a little bit not coherent. Great work!

Nice sound mate ! Very immersive, i love it ! I agree with Hamsternet about the flute, may be you can solve this problem on the mastering ;)

Really cool and immersive track, like really ambient and chill, i really like it, tho one thing i gotta say is that the flute is a lil bit too harsh sometimes, still the melody and the overall track is great!!!

I really like how this soundtrack sounds! Seems like something I'd listen on Loop over & over again LOL.

yo simish this was rly nice to listen to. I rly liked how the melody felt like it almost folded into the ambience. I never played WoW but I felt you desire come through well in the piece. Nice!

Nailed the ambient feel of the WoW music, the pads and textures give some of that teldrassil/ashenvale feel.

Personally I would've maybe like the flute to be a bit more distant sounding like the rest of the instruments since it kinda feels too in your face and lessens the great relaxing mood that the rest give with how close it is (just my feel)

Played on and off from vanilla to bfa as a tauren druid, so extra points for the right class choice? 😉

Good stuff!

I definitely went back and forth on the flute a lot, haha! At some points, I thought it was too close or too far, too loud or too quiet.

Druid solidarity!

fantastic piece. loved the WoW influence; that was one of the first OSTs I fell in love with, well before I was even a musician. love the structural development, especially the way it brings in the tenser elements and leads into that drone-y bridge.
