This game was pretty fun! I loved the old school flash style! It was cool figuring out the different traps to use at first, I was setting them all up, but then I learned to wait to see which squirrel was coming. Took a little trial and error but then I felt like I could just keep going forever. It's cool you added different backgrounds, and I feel like the music really suited the game too! Great work!

Hi! Streaming your game now:

Developer

Thanks for streaming and playing it all the way through!

Submitted(+1)

Really silly and entertaining, I liked the style a lot

Developer

Thanks for playing!

AHHHhahahahhaa! That was fun!

Would be nice to see an endresult, after the winter-scene ;-)

Developer

I had an idea with the bird, just got hit with scope creep and time when it came to a "boss fight"

ey ey ey, this is funny, thats how a game should be xd
Just some little adjustments here and there to the graphics and apply some hover animations for the buttons and you have a very pulished title, great work

Developer(+1)

Yeah. I've been re-teaching myself photoshop and working on masking and cleaning up lines etc. I've gone through and polished up some of the graphics but just haven't applied them.

I drew everything on my iPad and didn't use the correct pencil settings to make sure the outer lines stayed crisp... then I didn't use mask etc. BUT that's what jams are for.

I got some good yuks out of this, thank you!

I thought the concept was fun, it entertained me for a while, I liked your game. I assure you my 5/5 rating xD

Fun game.  Certainly put a smile on the face watching the squirrels spring of the screen

Submitted

It was a really fun game XD I especially enjoyed the part where a huge number of acorns suddenly appear when you start the game on the title screen. (I couldn’t find any of the Machines elements that were supposed to be the theme, but I think that’s okay!)

Developer(+1)

Simple machines.

The spring, box trap, and anvil.

Also a bit of a play on words Nuts as Nuts and Bolts are parts of a machine... Not these kinds of nuts. Haha

Submitted

Oh, so that was the machine! I’m sorry I didn’t realize.

This game is making me go nuts!

fun little game loved the art style. great overall

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad ya loved the art, it was all hand drawn by me.

Even when the sprites aren't that much complex they really fit each other and make the game really appealing both visually and in the audio.

The first time I was just spamming random objects but in my second time I struggled with the ninja Squirrel. I didn't like the idea of losing because of that but at the same time I got happy because the game wasn't just about throwing whatever object you have.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, making it so you needed certain objects were the only way to stop certain squirrels was the solution I came up with to add complexity without getting too caught up in scope creep.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Honestly, I think this was the project that entertained me the most during this game jam. I laughed right from the start with the EA Sports reference in the disclaimer at the very beginning (EA sports is in the game). It was kinda nostalgic and hilarious at the same time. I absolutely love the characters but it took me a while to figure out I should drag the items to the X locations. Man this is truly something original, I was missing that.

Developer

I'm glad this entertained ya. Making people laugh is one of the things I try to do when working on a game.

My next game jam challenge will be to build a tutorial into the game.

I like this. Enemy and trap variation was thoughtful (you can't just use the most expensive trap on everyone). The art was silly. Tweety Bird looked like someone spiked his bird seeds! This definitely feels like it appeals to Looney Toon fans like me.

Developer

The chances are not 0 that "Tweety" is going to help in a boss fight if enough people want me to update the game after the jam.

Hey! that was a nice one, first time I was lost but second time I got it right

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it enough to give it a couple tries! Thanks for playing

Hahaha, this was so much fun! I loved the variety of defense options, the humor, and all the different enemy types. The art was super cute and absolutely hilarious at the same time.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! I aimed to make people chuckle with the art so I'm glad that I accomplished that.

Nice little game, didn't completely understand it, but I liked the art and music.

Developer (1 edit)

Glad ya liked the music and art! It's a pretty basic wave defense. Just gotta keep the squirrels from reaching the feeder

Submitted(+1)

These squirrels are delightfully cheeky and hilarious; the art style is highly distinctive—it truly feels as though the developers drew every single stroke by hand.

Developer

I did draw everything by hand (well apple pencil on an ipad)

Glad you enjoyed the art and game.
