Very nice demo, very interesting. Loved the atmosphere, loved the stone breaking.

I got almost bored when I reached the dynamite section, and I was anxious about if the resources are limited and if I could soft-lock myself. But other than that - it's pretty fun!

I kinda wish there was a bit more engagement or push, though. The skeleton and the little dungeon were fun discoveries, but other than that it felt a bit... empty, I guess? But maybe that's just me.

In any case - amazing job, please keep it up!

tl;dw very fun; beat the whole thing, really nice vertical slice for what could be a complete game. had some frame drops like other people did and sometimes its kinda hard to pick stuff up also I hate throwing rocks at the lever thing but maybe thats a skill issue

If I'm going to mine all day, I'd kind of prefer to hold down LMB to mine instead of doing powershots all day, assuming that's any better than spamming. Speaking of powershot, if you release then hold down LMB too fast(ie during the swing animation) it won't register, so you then have to release and hold it again. Bad game feel, I expect it to start charging as soon as the animation finishes.

In the shop room with the green scarab, you can jump from the rafters to skip the elevator, though that's silly since the switch is right there.

I eventually got all the pickaxe upgrades and got the crown. I also saw the WIP area. I then decide to kill myself and it seems like there is no saves so that's too bad.

So fairly fun in a clear cutting sort of way, but not too much going on. On the flip side, due to that there was no difficulty in learning mechanics without a tutorial, like throwing things to flip switches, lighting dynamite on fires, merchants, etc. Biggest complaint so far is why it isn't fullscreen.

Very addictive and fun.

I tried to get as far as I could but I couldn't buy the iron pickaxe (the 3rd one). I searched for more diamonds but I couldn't any more. I also forgot to put the 2 scarab gems I found in the puzzle thing, maybe that's what I missed.

Anyway, it was a fun experience! Very good job!

finished it, became the ultimate digger, extremely fun!

some pain points:

- this should not have frame drops when i look in certain directions bro idk what is up with that

- losing a bunch of health instantly because some tiny debris rolled off a rock i just cracked and they briefly touched me shouldn't be a thing

- game lets you stand back up in places you need to crouch through and it gets you stuck or slides you around buggily until you crouch back down

- inventory/controls/holding stuff on your hand feels like it should get a new pass for how to handle it and how to handle the related inputs, it feels awkward right now

congrats on becoming the ULTIMATE DIGGER
I'm glad you found it fun sorry about the frame drops, I left occlusion culling disabled bc I couldn't fix some issues I had with it in time so basically everything renders whether it's visible or not
I'll have a better solution for performance by next demo day

aweome. just awesome. gameplay is fun, finding things is fun. I assume what's missing is just more things to find?

Game is pretty cool, the aesthetics are 10/10!
I didn't understand how i can use the box of dynamite on the big boulder (i guess it was dynamite). I accidentally threw away my upgrade pickaxe for this. So i guess an overview of the controls would be great!
Cracking rocks was quite fun, but there seems to always be a little lag when they spawn the small rocks. The small rocks are sometimes also annoying when trying to pick up the valuables. I was just spamming F at some point. Maybe some priority to "target" valuable pickups first might help?
Also the hallways after the lava lake were a bit too dark, i couldn't find the pickaxe i dropped because of that.
The start was pretty cool with throwing rocks at that lever, but i was kind of missing puzzles like that going into the cave. It seemed to me that im pretty much only hitting rocks all the time with little things to do otherwise..

Great, promising game though! Keep it going!

nice digging game.

It feels like very possible to softlock yourself by losing the pickaxe or wasting the dynamite.  Wasn't able to figure out how to upgrade the pickaxe or open the door with the 3 keys.

I liked the little shop guys.
Developer

thank you for playing! yea it's possible to softlock but you'd have to purposely throw away the pickaxe

partway through you hit the crouch key (control) i don't think you noticed but you spent the whole session playing while crouched lol
