Not a bad game for your first game jam. I like the idea of running, jumping over enemies, shooting when possible and healing from falling snowflakes. The game needs dynamics and action elements, I think you should work in this direction :)
Just wanted to let you know that I am on the furthest back burner possible but I am making progress. I often check here as the years have gone by and appreciate the kind words you shared every time. I have been wanting to come back to Snowmania but I have honestly learned so much since I began, it feels like every 2-3 months I am getting better at state handling, nesting the right conditional statements, I have started a few more projects since then but I have not given up by any means. I cannot wait to make an improvement down the road. Thank you Teamaich.
Obviously need more polish, but it's nice for a first jam game, it took me a while to realize that snowflakes heals you XD
Thank you for taking the time to respond and for trying my game out. Also, thank you for the feedback, You're right I neglected to include some informative note about the snow. I honestly forgot and that's the 2md most important feature. When I managed a little time ill see if I can't fix that. Again, even though the jam is over, there's a few more things I wanted to try like designing a spawn at the start, a new enemy type, a few more sounds and a little more variation in the background objects.
Taking a moment to look back from a couple of years ago to now. Thank you for sharing your feedback and interest. I am still making tiny steps of progress and part of it comes from the generosity found here. I have learned since then that I have the idea in my head, and certain things I have subconsciously picked up on by playing a lot of games, and making a game, I see the code so I know what it does. A recent feedback I got for a newer project was to assume that I will get someone every blue moon who has never played a game before so I need to slow down and really take my time displaying good information. Thank you Cboom from then and now again.
Cool Game! Best wishes for your future game jams.
Thank you for the response and the time you took to try my game out. I appreciate the support and it means a lot.
it's been some time but I hope things have continued to work out in your favor. I haven't done many jams since that I have finished, Snowmania was my genuine first and I am glad that I have this to look back on and appreciate everyone's involvement. Thank you Shalin Philip.
My first every game made in a 72 hour crunch and first ever submission to a Game Jam. Thank you all who take the time to read this and try my game out. Happy to be here.
