Description
In the fiery depths of the deepest forge, a weapon is born. To save the world, some say; to bring revenge, others cry; for justice or vileness, no matter - they desire it above all. But its maker knows that a weapon can only bring one thing: DOOM.

I wasn’t even aware music could be created like this through coding, it’s really interesting. I’m more used to working with chords and notation, so this feels very different, and it makes me curious to try this just for fun. There are some really fascinating and hypnotic elements in the track, and I find the overall sound beautiful and calming :)

Hey, I reccomend it! I've found Strudel quite intuitive to play around, has good documentation and it is very fun. And thank you very much!

Interesting submission using Strudel here Veilworks, I like it was something a bit different. In terms of the track, I like the syncopated bits but I feel there's something not quite tying everything together as a cohesive whole. I also wonder if maybe the melody could've been more present? Still a cool track that's something different for the jam!

Thank you, I'm glad you found it interesting!

Don't see submissions made with Strudel often on jams. really cool!

The atmosphere is nice, especially liked the swelling pad in the back a lot, but after the  2minutes mark when the lines start playing together it starts to turn a bit muddy with my ear unable to really latch on to what to listen to with so much stuff going together at once.

But still, good work!

Strudel is great! I've been trying to learn and decided to join some jams to make it work. Thank you very much!

And Fox Quest 2: The Blade Of Legend is great, it made me nostalgic for a game that does not exist!

What DAW make you code all the beats?! Looks exausting compared to most DAWs... Anyways, I like how wide & peaceful the whole soundtrack sounds. It can also be unsettling at times, but I honestly kind of like that... Very nice!

It's called Strudel, a live coding platform for music (with Hydra for the visuals), and it is a lot of fun! My code there is caotic spaghetti, I threw a bunch of ideas on the wall at the early days and then could only came back on the last day to try and stitch it toghther...

But 've found Strudel to be quite intuitive and easy going, really (if you like coding, of course). I'm very glad you liked DOOM, thank you!

Yeah, sure! My first DAW was actually like this... I think it was called CODE Music Lab or something like that... After that, I moved onto Bandlab, & then FL Studio.

Although the whole track is a little bit plain, the bell and the piano part create a mystic vibe. Maybe using some atmospheric pads will make your song more DOOM-ish :)

Developer

Thanks for replay! I kinda like empty spaces, but for sure it could have used some extra (and growing) atmosphere for DOOOM! Thank you!

I like the melody and the chiptune-esc sounding vibe you've made here. There are some errors that make the song not flow quite right, but if we're just looking at notation, I think you've made something rather catchy.

I think you've nailed the theme as well; it's a very mystical track; I can't give it a high rating for listenability, sadly, but all in all, this is a wonderful track, well done! I hope to see you in future jams!!! :D

Tthank you very much for your kind words! Yeah, I fumbled a little bit on the live coding, but that's all right. And by the way, Mr Maxim Sanguine Llewellyn was a great entry, congrats! See ya in the next jams.
