Hello everyone. Today, I've got some big news for you guys regarding Daddy, Say My Name.

So first off, I want to get this out of the way right away. I'm not going to release Daddy, Say My Name on itch.io or Steam. I've had a few conversations with people in which I said I would release a censored version of the game on those platforms. I'm sorry to disappoint those people; I decided I won't be doing that. Let me try to justify myself. A censored version of the game, which includes no references to incest, would dramatically change the entire story. Even if it were changed so that Ron is the stepfather to Zeke, it would lose a lot of the impact the game has. Sure, I could include a patch that would restore the game to its original vision, but I don't really have the heart to create a censored version, even with a patch. 

Part of the reason why is that the development of this game caused me a lot of stress and bad memories. I just don't want to bring back those memories, trying to get the game onto Steam and itch.io. Don't worry, I will try to get future VNs onto those platforms, albeit censored, that can be uncensored with a patch. I just want to start over with a clean slate. Getting Daddy, Say My Name onto those platforms would make it more accessible to more people, and it would get me more money, but I don't think either of those things is worth it. I know this isn't what people wanted to hear, but that's my reasoning.

In light of this decision, I've decided to make a compromise. Once I release my next paid VN, which would be the Savannah project I discussed, I will be making the full game free on Newgrounds. If you want to buy the game now, consider supporting me on SubscribeStar. If SS isn't your thing, try contacting me on my Twitter or my Bluesky, and we can discuss alternative ways you can get the game. It's not easy making these decisions, so I hope people understand where I'm coming from.

In other news, I will be releasing three free updates to the game. The first update includes the epilogue I discussed in previous updates and a new side story featuring a scrapped CG from the initial release. As I've mentioned, the epilogue basically ties up most of the loose ends from the ending of the initial game and shows what the cast has been doing a year after we last saw them. I highly recommend everyone who has played the game already to read the epilogue, as it serves as a sweet conclusion to the characters of Zeke and Ron. For now, anyway. The side story, on the other hand, takes place a few months after the initial ending of the game and involves Zeke and Ron taking part in an orgy in someone's basement (and no, none of the established side characters are getting involved). This one is essentially Porn Without Plot. Just fanservice for people who want to see these two getting freaky. I made this as I wanted to make use of a CG that I created for an alternative ending that I ended up not writing. This side story doesn't take place in an alternative ending, for the record. The epilogue also includes some CGs that were scrapped from the initial release. Currently, I'm finished with the first draft of the epilogue, and I've started work on the side story. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the update out by the end of May, as most people will be focusing on the May Wolf 2026 entries in June, but I'm not ruling out a June release date.

The other two side stories are a Halloween special and a Christmas special. These two stories feature more fantastical elements compared to the main game, especially the Halloween special. I'm not going to make a statement about how canon these side stories are. I'll leave it to you to decide if these two side stories are canon. The Halloween special features a story about the cast going out trick-or-treating, when suddenly Ron becomes a bit more beastly (no, it doesn't contain feral). This special, in particular, is more horror than the main game. Meanwhile, the Christmas special is about the cast getting together for a Christmas celebration, with a major subplot focusing on Wesley's family. You would know who he is if you have played the game before. Both of these specials will be written by a friend of mine, so they might read a little differently from the rest of the game, although I will edit them to be more cohesive. As you can imagine, the Halloween special will be added in October, while the Christmas special will be added in December. In addition, for the first week they are released, they will be free on Newgrounds for everyone to enjoy, albeit with some lines changed so as not to spoil what happens later on in the story. After that first week, they'll only be accessible for those who have bought the game until the game becomes permanently free, where they'll be accessible to everyone. The point of these specials is to have fun and do things that the characters wouldn't be able to do in the main game.

In other places, such as in my Discord server, I have discussed ideas for other side stories. However, at some point, I can't really justify continuing to release free updates for a niche visual novel like mine. As much as I love these characters, I do want to move on to working on other projects. I also think it would be better to save these ideas for a potential sequel, so I could have them play out in a more cohesive plotline. Speaking of other projects, the writer and I have been working diligently on the Savannah project. We're almost done with the first draft of the first day. I want to say that we'll have the demo out in August, funnily enough, that's the same month I first released the demo for Daddy, Say My Name, but no promises.
