This was pretty spectacular from start to finish. It's so brave to hold off on the cool twist after so much introduction, but what's really impressive is that all the introduction is SO impressive, and incredibly thematically cohesive with the eventual twist of the game. I don't want to spoil too much for anyone reading the comments before playing, but I think it's quite inspired to correlate the struggles of maintaining a game and maintaining your body itself as a performance artist, and particularly the idea that the emotional investment in a person's front-facing facade is no different than your investment in a completely fictional work. But rather than that being an indictment on the facade, it's rather a proclamation of just how powerful games are in terms of how much emotion and investment they can evoke out of someone.

Massive props to everyone involved, the writing, character dialogue, and flow was stellar, all the aesthetic was mind-blowingly polished, and the characters were wonderfuull. I am the number 1 Chieko stan forever and ever and nobody can take that away from me

Wow, huge amount of game for a month's work! I was already impressed by the great character and UI design, then  the idol management mechanics were introduced... Seems like y'all are very close to a full game. It was smart to introduce the idol management stuff after the first couple of scenes, too, otherwise I think it would have felt overwhelming. Kudos to your team!

This is truly impressive for a month's worth of work! Such nice art, great writing, and compelling story!! Your game is absolutely amazing!

I am not into VNs, but yours was of great quality and there were a lot of choices to make, which kept me interested. Not sure if the choices I made had an effect on the (terrible) ending I got, but you definitely have all the groundwork laid out for a branching story with lots of different routes. I must say I look forward to the finished product!

I don't have much feedback for future development. It's all nitpicking anyway and it's probably known issues for you, but here it goes:

  •  Maybe a save/load function would help? (if there is one, I couldn't find it). Even though it's a demo, the game is relatively long. Players may want to save progress in case they need to interrupt their playthrough.
  • Some of the buttons feel a little clunky, as if you had to click near the very center of the button for it to work.
  • Combining the idea of a mystery game with a management side sounds like a winner! Right now, the management part feels a little undercooked, but I understand you will further flesh it out in the future, so I was fine with it.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck with your game. Thanks very much for a fun experience!

Thank you so much~

There's minor branching paths based on both gameplay and dialogue choices but the ending is the same for the most part yes.  I'm glad you enjoyed the writing ^^

- We didn't have time to implement a traditional save/load system but the game as of now autosaves using some obscure itch feature in a weird way.  It's really haphazard and doesn't save things such as items and the full release will use a much more reliable system

-yes the gameplay is definitely undercooked but we hope to improve it a lot in the full release ^^ wish us luck!

Thank you, you as well!!!!

-Aya

Really engaging experience! First of all, love the presentation; the characters, the unique art style and the backgrounds, it all blends together really well. The characters are super charming and their interactions were fun and enjoyable throughout.

The 'mystery' part of it feels like it takes a little while to get going, but once it did I was definitely invested. It's a great game for only being done in a month! And I'm now looking forward to the final release!
