Absolutely loved the puzzle! So original, with a great city vibe. The fox has real personality, and the colors are spot on. They perfectly adapted to the time limit. Awesome experience!
The game introduction made me curious, especially the empty town. I didn't have the patience for that first fuse puzzle though, so unfortunately I haven't seen more of it.
It is an interesting and bold idea to make a replayable adventure. Not absolutely sure if this is worth the (dev) effort (are players motivated enough that they really want to see the alternative variants?). I haven't seen them, but of course I am wondering if this mechanic actually makes sense in the whole game world and narrative. It can be interesting when it makes actually sense to play a game more than once. Like Outer Wilds did it ... but that game unfortunately wasn't able to grab my patience either, so this isn't your fault.
It's a pretty game; the character is cool and the voice actress is awesome too.
But the forest maze is unnecesary hard, I need play the game three times (three diferents days) to get finish that. The first and the second the graphics just don't match the images and I lose ten minutes each time even know the logic of the puzzle. The third time I could finish the maze but... the end. Pretty short.
I don't particularly like mazes, but I think this one would be improved if, instead of forcing you to take five paths even if the first one is wrong, it let you recover the path if you continue along the correct one later on.
I play the first time before the letter in the beginning, that's cool, give more information about the visit but keep it misterious. I like that too.
You make really interesting puzzles, challenging but well thought out. I'm looking forward to your next project.

I like this game quite a lot. Few things I've found while playing it shortly:
- The fuse puzzle in the beginning felt a bit arbitrary even after figuring out the solution.
- The keyboards length is hard to distinguish in the forest puzzle. To be honest, i hate forest puzzles :-D
- I was not able to solve the the forest puzzle (I'm really bad in forest puzzles) because after the first hints (thing that looks like a mobile, 3 bottles (red, green, blue), 2 cans) then after either moving left or right doesn't really bring me any further and the keyboards look to similar to distinguish. - The character is always saying "Looks like that wasn't the right..." whenever coming to the post office screen (which is good when coming from the forest but not when coming from the shop screen.)
Thanks for the bug report, should be fixed in the next build.
For some the forest was still too easy... I tried to balance the difficulty, making the things like the cans very obvious, and the keyboard difficult forcing players to actually write notes.
Well, it is short and I assume the story would be resolved in the missing finale. Would love to know why grandma sent the letter and why the town seems to be abandoned ;-) There is a bit of signposting for the puzzles so they are solvable, but they don't make much sense (in the game's world or otherwise). Why would the gate open like this or the sings in the park be connected to ...(spoiler)? The graphics and character animation are beautiful.
But a big step up since the last jam in my opinion.
I just played Paw Trials, and the first thing that comes to mind is: solid execution but very little risk. The story is quite weak and so short that the script is almost non-existent. While the assets from other artists are used well, I don't see anything particularly unique in the game's core; I feel like much more could have been done. There aren't any major bugs, but that's mostly because there isn't much 'game' to begin with. Even so, the character tends to clip off the path—I guess city foxes just love flying through trees.
That said, I understand a 5-minute game can't be perfect, especially when you've only had 15 days to gather external assets and put them into the engine.
Best of luck, buddy!
Thanks, the game is intentionally short, and focus was mostly replayability, reloading the page creates a slightly different game every time, and sadly I was indeed ideling most of the time waiting for everything not code or script related... But I'd like to hear more about the fox flying through trees, have you been able to do this in town or in the forest?
