Very neat presentation! Sprites look very consistent and spaceship designs are dope. Would love to have a couple more stages to play though, but I know how it is with with jams.
Very nice art style, this was fun one to play. I like the retro feeling a lot and it worked pretty well. Main problem i had was the shooting sound being rather loud so needed to lower the volume, but the music was good so be good tone down the shooting sound so can hear music better. I think need some feedback when being hit, like some sort damage effect or sound.
Overall good game, nice work on it
Enemy Defeated
It was fun.
The artwork is very good and I specially like the visual feedback when an enemy is destroyed, the music is catchy and the sound effects fit. The game controls well, the speed of the ships and bullets is on point and I like that the game ends with a boss fight. The voice acting is a nice touch, in particular the intro in verses, this is awesome.
Maybe a pixelated font and energy bar would better fit the artwork. I noticed sound going louder, the game might be playing the same sound several times in the same instant or something, I know I've been struggling with that too but concluded it's better not to play the same sound again when it's already playing. Finally I'm not fan of the invisible walls especially during the boss fights. These are minor caveats.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for trying our game. The time was limited and we were not able to handle correctly the sound volume.
My comment was wrong by the way, what I'm actually doing is playing a sound only once (I even only play one sound at all) when multiple ships shoot at the same moment, the same sounds may be playing more than once as long as they didn't started at the the same moment but yeah that's probably not perfect, I've been struggling with that and you probably do better than I when you have the time ;) .
This game nailed that retro bullet hell look from the heyday. The pixel art visuals were really nice, and the background looked great without being intrusive. The ship movement felt good too, with the turning animation helping the movement feel smooth. The explosion animations looked really good as well.
The voice work was an unexpected but nice surprise and gave the opening a lot more personality. Also, great job on the music, it was super fun to jam along to. The shrink moment was a cool highlight as well. It gave the game a nice payoff, and it was a nice way to use the theme. Fun little space adventure. Nice work.
Thanks for playing our game!
How Charming! i loved the voice work!
To be frank the audio balancing is bad, sfx are too loud and drown out both the music and the voice over at times. Beyond that i just wish there was more meat on these bones! this is solid work and your sprite work simple but effective! the explosions look really good!
Great Job c:
Thanks for trying our game! Yes the sfx are a little too loud; we have added them to the game almost last minute and we had no time to fix their volume in the best way.
cool space game :D
i love the pixel art, it looks very cool especially for space, and the music was good.
and the difficulty was amazing, great work :)
Thanks for trying our game! For the space in background we tried to give a nice parallax to make the experience nicer.
Cool mini space adventure
I really like the spritework, these ships look very nice. Soundwise i wasn’t expecting the game to be voice acted, it really added to the immersion with that opening text crawl :p
The “shrink mode” moment was a cool highlight as well and i really enjoy the very star wars approache of being able to destroy a huge ship from the inside XD
Well done ^^
Thanks for playing our game! :)
No problem ! I had a good time :)
Well done! Game loop is addictive and easy to learn. There is a sense of skill progression. Congrats!
Thanks for playing our game!
very nice graphics and audio, and i really appreciate the ship had an extra bullet hell level. i might came across a bug (or maybe just a quality of life help). in my first playthrough the big ship killed me with bunch of extra minion ships, but in my second try, i just shrinked after some point and got inside the mothership. it's a fun little game though!
Thanks for trying our bullet hell game!
