  • Absolutely loved the art style! Controls were explained from the beginning, and the music set the tone right off! Gorgeous shadow/silhouette world! I would pay money for this game!! Side notes: music would distort badly after a death and get progressively worse with each one.
  • The crank portion did seem to be too hard. And having to go back to the start for a single mistake without any chance to get used to how the crank behaves in this game, made it not enjoyable I'm afraid.
  • The game was fun and I enjoyed the art. It felt a bit brutal having to restart a level after failing a minigame later in the level. On device, after a few fails the frame rates started to dip which made failing even more likely. Overall solid!

Feedback:

  • Nice atmosphere, good sfx, cool art
  • Cool different mechanics, sometimes align the signwave signal was just impossible, also controlling the car with the d-pad just didn't work
  • I think there need to be save points, after a few tries it gets repetitive to do everything from the beginning again and again
  • After failing once or twice the game starts to slow down, probably not everything is cleaned up from memory probably (on the playdate)

Thank you for the feedback! I think you pretty well highlighted all the changes our team wanted to make post jam. Unfortunately, the controls for the car game was a mistake- to steer the van you need to use the crank. Definitely all good points worth considering!

Thanks for playing!

This was fun! The art has a lot of charm. I completed it on my first try, thanks to figuring out the crank controls in time on the getaway. Presuming that level 2 is not actually unlockable.  Other than the instructions on the getaway being incorrect, my only other point of confusion was on the safecracking, but I guess it had sufficient amounts of tolerance that I still didn't fail.

SOME IMPORTANT REMARKS
*** To play the last mini-game you must use the CRANK and not the d-pad ***
*** To climb the ladder in the first scene you only need to press up on the d-pad and not A ***

An interesting collection of minigames!  I liked the theme that tied everything together.  The rotoscoped art and animations also gave the game a good amount of charm.  I'm only sad that I didn't get to see the whole thing through- I was playing on device and was unable to move during the truck minigame on level 1.  Besides that glitch, my only main criticism was that the game boots you all the way back to the intro when you fail.  Don't get me wrong, you all deserve credit for the game, but it made it take a long time to get back into the action.  Still, I think this is a fun entry.  I find it funny we took the theme in the same direction!

Thanks for the feed back! Yeah in hind sight I wish we added a life system like three tries and then you have to start all the way from the beginning. Also I'm sad to report that to drive the mini-van game you need to use the crank! I have a version of the project where I corrected the control direction card before the mini game starts but over looked the change in the final merge of the project. Glad you liked the game, thank you for all the feedback, and thank you for playing !
