Which theme(s) did your game incorporate, and how?
The jam theme was “Under Pressure.”
In Oink Jack, players constantly make risky decisions under pressure from increasing debt, limited opportunities, and the possibility of losing everything with a single bad card draw. The core gameplay revolves around deciding whether to safely stop or push for a higher reward.
Did you use any pre-made assets? If so, what were they and where were they from?
Yes. The game uses several pre-made assets for graphics, UI, shaders, fonts, music, and sound effects.
Detailed credits and asset sources are listed both in the game and on the game description page. All third-party assets used in the project were properly sourced and are available for commercial use under their respective licenses.

The fact that you play against the threshuld AND for money instead of the dealer add an interesting twist, that should be better explained. For example if I play blackjack i have enough info to develop a statistical approach, while here i usually fail because "the numbers" didn't multiply enough.... the game is fun and cool but seems ltoo random, more like a slot machine.
You understood my intention exactly! The whole idea actually started from “does blackjack really need a dealer?”
I agree that the randomness is still a bit high right now. In earlier versions, I actually experimented with Balatro-style jokers and expanding the target score beyond 21. I ended up scaling back the scope to keep things manageable for this release, but if the response is good, I’d love to expand on those ideas.
Thanks so much for playing and for instantly picking up on the core concept!
mmm balaro

Nice game! To be completly honest, i got to level 4 by completly luck lol. Way to good art and sound to be honest!
Thanks for playing!
Yeah, the early balance is still pretty rough, so luck can definitely carry a run right now. Glad you liked the art and sound.
Fun idea!
I would wish for some explanation in the game. I didn't understand the card screen and what to do with the values on the bottom of the cards. But I like that the initial screen isn't overloaded with stuff.
The hearts made it easy for me to understand, that I only have 3 tries to reach the goal.
I like the "old screen style". All together very neat art style.
Nice little game :)
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Good point! The card values and bottom effects need clearer explanation. I tried to keep the screen minimal, but it seems I went a bit too far in that direction. I’ll work on making the mechanics easier to understand without cluttering the UI.
Glad you liked the visual style and overall atmosphere.
Thanks for the feedback!
First of all, I apologize for the lack of clarity in the game. I should have added more descriptions for each element, but I was quite pressed for time during the jam.
That screen is actually for upgrading cards. I’ll add a “Card Upgrade” title if I keep working on this. The 66% button is cheap but risky (if it fails, the card is gone), while the 100% button is safe but expensive.
You’re right about the hearts. they’re just remaining turns. “Turn 3/3” would’ve been way more intuitive.
This is my first jam and I’m having a blast! I’ll make sure to check out your game too.
