WIP is a good start! Looking forward to the post-jam full version. :) I believe in your ideas!

I would very much like to see a final version.

While the Work In Progress is mostly lorem Ipsum, what you do have here is evocative and gives a really good ludonarrative connective tissue. And please please build on that, it's very very good and evokes a sense of sorrow and vengeance out of grief. I really wanna see the end result of this!

Tough to give actual feedback on this, but I hope this is an encouragement to keep working! I find I have to share stuff with the world, even if it isn't done, just to keep me going. I did download firetaker, and it looks awesome! I was surprised to see how well the panic engine worked with ancient greek vibes. Keep it up!!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words and for taking a look at Firetaker! I am devoting all my spare time/brain power to it, so it means a lot getting words of encouragement. :)

Seems like you really wanted to do Ancient Greece, and not Mothership.

Thanks for the feedback! You're not wrong! When I saw that "Ancient Myths" was one of the possible themes, I told myself I'd write the Panic Engine game I've been kicking around if it was selected. After clearing it with Graham in advance, I decided to write and share the current Firetaker draft and its first module with the community.

Thanks for writing, and good luck with the jam!

Great mythological setting that is always fun to return to. Obviously it will really benefit from complete art etc, which I hope to see.

Thanks, Partial Object! I'm going on Parental Leave shortly, so I plan to work on it between chasing a rowdy toddler and changing a newborn! 😆

Congratulations and good luck on this forthcoming mythical quest of parenthood.

Hard to score meaningfully, as a day or two's work on any aspect would completely transform what's here. I like the pyramidal map structure and the overall premise - good luck getting the system together and going!

This is a fun premise and setting! I'm excited to see how it comes together. Mostly just not getting full marks because of it's current level of completion but I hope to see it when it's finished!

Thanks, Bonesaw! I plan to incorporate it as the starting module in the full game itself (a la Cloud Empress). I think it's contained and simple enough to serve as a one-shot for new players/Wardens. I'm excited to keep going, and I look forward to seeing what you do next, too!

Art: Non-existent at present.

Writing: What is there is pretty good, but obviously there is a lot missing. One typo: "steel blood"

Game Design: Not sufficiently complete to rate, but I like the idea of an Ancient Greece Panic Engine game.

Theme: It's definitely Ancient Mythology, but also definitely not Mothership, so I can only give half marks.

Layout: Looks like it will be easy to follow once complete. Follows a similar structure to the ones I've done.

Utility: Not finished, ergo not very usable.

Favorability: I don't personally mind, but I feel like some would find it questionable to submit something that is both incomplete and not for the game the jam is organized around in order to promote a separate project. I think the project itself is interesting, and the adventure looks like it will be fun. I don't feel like I can give more than three stars in any category, though, as I'm imagining the emotional experience of being the author of one of the weaker submissions and losing to 5x "[NPC NAME]" and a bunch of lorem ipsum.

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback! Everything you said is totally fair. The hack I’m writing wouldn’t exist without TripTech3 (specifically the theme), so I worked with Graham to find a workable solution to show something for my three weeks of jamming. Both the hack and this module are going to get a lot of post-jam polish. ^^;;;

Thanks again, and I look forward to checking out your stuff, too!

Ah, okay. I didn't realize you'd run this by Graham beforehand, but that makes sense.
