I have mixed opinions on this title. Many of the flaws that I wish to see corrected in future versions include slowing down the movement speed of Shinmyoumaru, having a composed soundtrack, explaining the game's controls and items through a tutorial instead of forcing players to read the manual, and lessening the punishment on the player.

thanks driller you rule
It’s not often that I get to see a homebrew game submitted to a jam, and it’s always pretty neat when it happens! I like that there’s little to no flickering when a large amount of bullets are on screen. It helps keep the bullets visible, even if the performance goes down temporarily (which isn’t always a downside within the bullet-hell genre). My only suggestion would be some music, but other than that, this was pretty cool to see!
I really loved testing this. Thank you for sharing. Great job!
Very nice aesthetic and gameplay-great job:)
I reached the 3rd stage during my last run, don't think I can do much better and that's perfectly fine.
Congratulations for making an actual NES game (NES Jam starts two weeks from now, see you there;) ), the game or at least what I've seen of it is well made, it controls well, the difficulty of the sequences between the boss fight is appropriate and the boss fight themselves are unique and cool.
Thanks for sharing!
Very solid game and feels very nostalgic! I especially loved the little pigeon sprites.
What a treat to play something for the NES, very nostalgic! I'm not much of a toho player tho, so i don't really know what power is, or what half the pickups are doing for me, so i wish i had had that explained to me. When rats get behind me they can be a real pain, But otherwise the gameplay felt great! the first boss was super fun, and it really feels like a classic nes game, i'd love to see more c:
Rad actual NES mini shmup !
It’s impressive that you went the extra mile and not only make a retro style game but an actual retro game for a retro console :o
The movement and shooting felt fine by NES standards, though i gotta say i didn’t quite get what the powerup mechanics were like, i just understood that you lose everything when hit and you get a chance to collect back some but other than that i was confused :/
Despite that it’s a fun entry, good job ^^
This both played and sounded like my childhood. You really nailed the feel of it, especially considering the limitations you were working with. Gameplay-wise, it was addictive. The retro dings were ear candy, and the pickup system was engaging enough to make me risk my positions just to grab more power. The sprites and animations were great too.
Maybe I too should be under the influence of Canadian ice beer for my next jam lol.
That's a great game. I have downloaded it and used on Mesen. I will try also on my NES.
Cool that you have used nesfab. So far I just wrote NES stuff in assembly but I need to try nesfab as well.
Very good job!
Interesting to see a game specifically for the NES. Can't comprehend how hard that has to be, it reminded me a bit of the PC98 games, I like the game, but I wanted more content xD.
