I spent some time trying to figure out what to do. The game looks actually interesting. But, for some reason Astro just started floating in front of the glass without moving at all(I brought his helmet and he wore it). I've put all the stuff in each planet. Also, even if I don't have all the items in the planets, when I put the tear on the earth the sun gets triggered.

Nevertheless, Good Job!

The museum was fun to explore for a bit, but then I wasn’t sure how to progress. I found the “space room”, placed the heart to spin one of the planets, and heard the headless astronaut knocking, but I couldn’t figure out how to help and didn’t find anything else to unlock.

The game sent my GPU fans spinning, probably a good idea to limit FPS and/or resolution for game jams.

BTW I’m on Linux so this took some fiddling to get running: I think if you marked the upload as being for Windows (and maybe used zip instead of 7zip), I could have just installed it through the itch.io app, which I was running through Steam/Proton.

Admittedly I wasn't very impressed at first and it felt like nothing is going to happen in this game and seemingly all you can do is rotate some pictures. Then I found some brick in a statues but and from thereon it was an absolute joy. Not super self explanatory but some games needs the player to discover things as part of the fun like this game did. Really enjoyed this game and I thing a full release will be great. Not too fond of the "assety" feel though but even so I would still play it as it is seriously fun. Nice job devs!

Thank you for sticking with it, the idea was indeed to have the players explore a bit however we did find some places where the experience might be hindered for being a bit unclear. Some post jam changes are planned that hopefully help smooth out the experience a little. Glad you enjoyed it!

I got trapped next to some stairs in the space room.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for reporting it those pesky stairs did evade us through our late night playtesting. We already fixed it for a post jam update. Thank for playing!

This game was pretty intuitive and self explanatory to me, BUT that implies a familiarity with GrecoRoman mythology.   God , I loved outer   space as a kid.

These unreal engine games max my CPU when I run them and turn my PC into a space heater.

The visual with the hand sprite  extending outwards onto props and paintings is fitting.     I really don't want to be stuck in front of the computer all day.

I really appreciate the surreal vibes in this game. You might  enjoy playing some of the games I've made:   https://astecarmyman.itch.io/surreal-lifestyle  and   https://astecarmyman.itch.io/confront-your-fear-the-lifestyle

Really enjoyable to interact with, if a bit lacking in a clear goal. I was kind of hoping the game was going to ask me to name the pieces and that's what those grey slabs were [signs]

I love the atmosphere.  The virtual museum concept is so cool.  I really appreciate the loads of creativity in the environment design.  Starting off fairly benign and ramping up the crazy was fun to experience.

I think I cheesed the space room by dropping the same item over-and-over, but I do see the puzzle concept, and it was neat.  I actually made the sun so big, it encapsulated me and I was soft-locked.  I knew that going into the bug, though.

Overall, loved it.  I felt whimsy the whole way.

ahaha blowing up the sun is indeed something nice to do although the cheesing is not intended. we already have the bug squashed, but we are waiting for the rating phase to end in order to submit it.
I'm happy you managed to have fun either way, thanks for the comment :)

BRAVO! I didnt look at any cheat sheets, so it was tough at first, but boy it was worth it. Right off the bat got strong Beginners Guide vibes which I love, so I dug in and started exploring. There is a lot of visual quips, surrealism and humour here, and the puzzles have basic cultural references that are just right to not be too difficult but enough to make you feel smart and satisfied. AND there is a hero cutscene in the middle, very nice motion. My favourite so far, would defo play a commercial version of this. Only one thing that was a negative: I got stuck after what I suspect is 80% of the game on the stairs, and since theres no jump button (I understand why) and no unstuck option, I couldn't get out! Will try another playthrough some other time.

Wow, was not expecting a reaction like this, thank you! :))
We have done very little playtesting but are realizing some things may be a bit too hard to understand, so some polishing is definitely needed. We are working on some bug fixes already that hopefuly will go in once the jam officially closes, so maybe you can try it again after that "patch".
Thank you so much for the comment, cheers!

Good Job guys cool game was worth the download I couldn't figure out which piece went where without the cheat sheet but I like the vibe and where are the ship parts meant to go for the final part i tired placing them next to each other and near the space man but nothing happened

Developer(+1)

Hey, thank you so much for playing and the kind words! Unfortunately we have a few bugs that are making the experience a bit rougher than expected, but the space ship parts are supposed to go in that structure in the mars section. Tell me if you end up doing it, would love to know what you thought of what happens next :)
Cheers!
