Interesting concept! The control scheme is very unique. I was a little confused by the tutorial screen, and it took me a bit to pick up what was going on, but once I got it figured out it felt pretty intuitive. Maybe there could be more clear indications on what interactions points are connected with what. I also found the game could be cheesed a little bit by clicking and holding on your ball while moving around, as that would allow you to basically still hit other balls with the normal force, but with the much more controlled WASD movement. Maybe WASD should be fully disabled while charging a shot? I loved the art, it felt like a callback to early flash games in a way, and I appreciated the variety of level ideas. I liked that one was designed after a pool table, and the one at the end was designed around causing as much destruction as possible, although I did think destroying the cars was a bad thing at first. Great job!

Fun game, I enjoyed the pull and release mechanic. I liked the ability to walk around, I think it would have been way too difficult to try and line up shots without it.

Developer

that's exactly why we built in a walk mode, so that it wasn't a complete rage game just over shooting everything.

It's one of those ideas that is so pure I'm shocked I've never seen it before. Combining scooker with an environment. Amazing!
It got a bit tricky for me early on when I had a blue and pink ball to manage simultaneously, we kept getting stuck in the room at the bottom. Perhaps close the door after I leave it?

Seems like a lot of depth and replay value in the puzzles offered (I only got to level 4 or 5). I found it relatively easy to understand, other than there being a lot to look at in the first screen. I liked the combination of player control with the billiards stuff. A couple of physics things felt a bit off - the other balls would knock my player back, but I didn't have any effect on them after they were moving? I was also getting the feeling that everything was sliding on ice, and would have liked the balls to have a little more friction at the really slow speeds.

I was impressed by all the optional objectives and tracking them, great job! Here's a playtest

To help contextualize what you were feeling,  in "walk" mode, the other balls "bully" you, but in "launch " mode you'd be able to knock them around evenly.

Also if you go back, you can press and hold "L" for 1 second to go into debug mode. The screen doesn’t look any different, but you can enter any level.

An interesting take on a billiard/snooker based game, although I must admit I probably wouldn't miss it if the ability to walk was removed. I also guess there is a story here, but it wasn't obvious to me.

I liked that there was some challenge to trying not to hit certain things and to get things in their right spots. The last level felt both a funny different experience and also a bit out of place. I could see a spinoff where the main goal is pure destruction in every level. :D

I think I noticed the character's face changing in the top left, but I admit I didn't find myself looking there much.

Cute game and very easy to pick up and understand. First few levels were fun to play through trying to avoid smashing the balls into the breakable objects. While later levels had a fun set up like the billiards, I feel some more interesting design is needed since after the break the switches are all just cramped in a corner and theres no puzzle or challenge. Last level was fun to smash the cars but again,  no puzzle or challenge, feels more like a free play area rather than a level. Like the vibe of the game overall though and think it nailed the self explanatory aspect!!

Developer

The bowling ally did lack a challenge - your right, better design should go there.

The parking lot was a reward-free play for escaping the mall.

Really fun game with a cozy vibe! Especially liked the last 3 levels, some clever ideas there.

The only bummer was when balls ended up in corners / narrow corridors, which took some fiddling to get them out again.

I really liked the game. I think I would have liked to have seen some wackier locations, which is probably my only real critique of the game. I like smashing the balls together, so much so that I would have probably removed the walking functionality entirely and leaned into chaos a little more. Still, I think this was a really well made game jam game, nice job to you both

Developer

Now that she's escaped the mall, we'll have to see where she ends up.

really awesome job! Was very easy to grasp for quite a large set of mechanics and interactions. I found a few of the choke points a little frustrating but i am also just bad :D

This was pretty fun - I spent a lot of time on this one because I wanted to get to the end.  🙂

Developer

I hope you found the end rewarding. Thank you for the kind words.

the only question I have is where is the Magical Girl transformation? fun levels, I especially loved the billiards break and the car smashing (I'm a Street Fighter girlie)

You will have to forgive our graphical oversight.

Nicely done! Gives me Kirby's Dream Course vibes. Definitely self explanatory for the most part, definitely very tricky. I was not able to complete it after trying to get those dang 2 green balls behind the counter on one of the levels.

It really is a chill enjoyable game

Developer

thanks. Part of me worries we made a rage game because of how hard some of it was for our testers.
