Bro didn't break a SWEAT during all that, haha. I absolutely loved booking it for my life, scared half to death by these horrible little gnomes and one not so little one, only to see the player's smug face still smirking as they drive off. For some reason that's just hilarious to me.
I really like all the little environmental details here, like the buckets of paint used to make the signs, and the family guy death poses the mailmen are in. I don't know if there's a way to get through the woods without being seen but my optimal strategy was to just be faster, so I ended up collecting what I think is several gnomes as I ran through (didn't look behind me much to check).
Very straightforward and intuitive game, I think you could even get away with removing the flashlight on/off feature to simplify it further, but this just plays well and is a nice lil experience.
I love that this is a mail man horror game :)
I like how his demeanor remained entirely unphased in the end cutscene hahaha
This spooked me, I especially loved the long gnome arms. I was able to win by constantly running, and wasn't sure if I was cheesing the game or not?
Anyways, fun lil vibe. Here's a playtest
atmosphere was really great. could use some QOL stuff, full screen, mouse capture, movement tweaks etc to really get into the immersion
I've struggled with puzzle, but after 10 tries I did it!
I really appricate music and atmosphere
Wow, this game's atmosphere and world was really cool! I loved the low poly and handdrawn aesthetic. I couldn't manage to figure out how I could avoid dying or why I was being killed, and didn't end up reaching the end. I thought I could interact with the letters on the ground but didn't seem to be able to. I felt mislead by a few of the signs that seemed to have me dying over and over, so I'm not sure if that was part of the wordless design or a misdirection in the theme of a horror situation, but I found it a little confusing. Either way, I think this style is really cool and could do well in a longer project. Fun game!
Not your garden variety of horror game ;)
If ur stuck try to go thru the forest edges instead of going to the other mail truck
