Make a free demo of your NSFW games ;)

Since Itch are now indexing NSFW games that are free, you should use this to make a demo of your paid game and point people into the direction of your paid version. (free advertising)

Just strip out some content from your game and call it a demo 😂

Don’t link to the paid version on the demo page itself, instead do it at the end of the demo, so when a player reaches the end they will be met with “Did you enjoy the demo? - You can get the full game here {link}”.

This is good idea, but it will not work - itch disabled the payment processors for the NSFW games. So the page with your full game can not get the payment.
PS
Paypal is still working, but it is not very comfortable for the buyers.

I meant, make a link to an alt payment page (such as Patreon).

So use Itch for advertising, and then use another site for payments.

hello

It depends on the case, I'm certain that Patreon won't accept me...

There's something you need to understand...

Patreon is also partnered with Visa and Mastercard...

so they're just as vulnerable to what happened here; in fact, it happened on Patreon before it did on Itch.

Subscribestar has no ties to them, so it's currently the safest platform.

Sorry to ask RicOH but when will be out v.011 of Corrupted love if  Will be out?

As for the issue of NSFW games, I think it’s just a matter of being patient…
I think it’ll be resolved soon… because… okay, I’ll tell you why:
let’s not beat around the bush...
this was influenced by geopolitical factors; those in the know know what I mean.

SubscribeStar really is the move right now — Patreon got hit with the same card processor issues ages ago, so it's not exactly a safe bet. The free demo funnel idea is smart though, letting players actually finish something before seeing the full game link hits different than just slapping a buy button on the front page.

The irony of it was that Visa, Mastercard and Paypal came out as payment methods precisely for these sensitive content where you did not want people to know u subscribed to a porn site or transferred money more traceable to your bank statement.

They were built as an intermediary for precisely this.

They are trying very hard to forget this.

While I don't post NSFW stuff, but being the moral police for this is abit too... much...

itch remains one of the only places where I can post my gay NSFW games, and it looks like offering both a free version & a paid version helps.

Still hoping for a less restricting payment processor, though.
