I'm looking for a team for this jam, and I'm looking to be an artist (maybe a dev). If you're interested in finding an artist ig, you know where one is

[NOTE: I might not be able to even participate in this jam because of a very important exam that takes place about when this jam runs, so yeah, just a backup artist lol]

Is discord the only way we can communicate? I currently don't have discord (you can tell I'm a beginner jammer)- could we use something like google chat or mnetwork or something like that?

Google Chat is terrible, well, because it's Google. If you don't use Discord because of privacy concerns, then it's nonsense. I didn't have Discord before either, but I eventually got it and everything is great.

It's the most common way to communicate when it comes to games, and creating an account is pretty easy. Alot of games share news on discord and it's easy to meet new people there. Give it a try 😉
