Lovely art and palette choice. Animations are really nice too. Controlling the dog on small platforms are tricky though. Overall pretty fun.

Lovely art and interesting platforming! Really appreciated the frequent checkpoints.
The only things that bothered me were the floaty controls, and that it was so short :)
Very cute, I like the art a lot. The platforming felt pretty good for the most part, but the long acceleration/deceleration did make it feel a little floatier than I think it needed to be. I think I would have preferred if the stun on the enemies when you hit them was a little longer, or maybe a little clearer with when it ended. I found it hard to get into a good flow in combat, because it was just hard to tell when to attack. I loved the speed of the game, platformers should be fast and you definitely nailed that. Great job!
Very pretty game, the art was lovely, and I liked playing as the dog!
Unfortunately the movement and controls didn't feel good, having to press enter to dash whilst also holding the spacebar felt awkward, and the movement could have used some coyote time on the jumps. The way the camera snaps abruptly when you change directions also felt unpleasant to me.
It also wasn't clear which platforms you could jump on when climbing the trees, I only managed to jump onto the lower branches, even though I thought I would be able to climb higher because the upper branches looked identical.
The way you introduced movement and eating to heal was intuitive, although teaching the player how to throw the pine cone could have used some similar button prompts. The enemies felt like a weak point, they didn't provide much of a challenge, and I never understood how to attack them, so just ended up dashing past all of them.
The dog sfx were very nice, some more music throughout the game would have really added to the atmosphere though. The intense music at the end felt like a good fit for a battle against the enemies, but it continued playing until the ending where you're reunited with your owner, which really clashed with what was supposed to be a heartwarming moment.
Overall, I think the premise is sweet, but the gameplay, specifically movement and enemies, needs some work.
Visually and narratively this game is great! Love the pixel art and theres a clear goal I want to achieve with a heartwarming ending. But as others have said controls definitely could be better. I think jumping up the trees was difficult and I would've preferred more precise movement and I think if I could add one thing it'd just be some coyote time for jumping off platforms as trying to jump over the gates from the small platforms was quite difficult to do but just in a frustrating way. Overall though I really enjoyed playing it and again looked amazing!!
Nice lil game, I like being dog. Ultimately I found it easy to just jump/dodge over all the obstacles, which I'm not sure if it was the intent, but ultimately I got to the end!
Here is a link to a playtest, I've timestamped your game in the chapters
Emotionally hooking, very smooth/intuitive introduction. Felt like a finished game they way it started, not a gamejam entry! But I have to echo what FormallyKnownAsPants said about controls and precise platforming -> the dodge wasn't easy, and that was not an enjoyable challenge to me because I felt so bad for the dog every time I died! That said, very very solid and well built
This made a really strong first impression. The tutorial was basically by the book, and once the game loaded in I immediately loved the art style. The visuals, sound, forest/city stuff, all of that was really good.
The part that lost me a little was the gameplay. The controls worked, but the movement felt too fast for some of the more precise parts, especially that tree section and some of the flame dodging. I liked the dash, but it also kind of made me want to blast through the level instead of fighting the bad guys.
The ending also confused me. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to fight the enemies by the locked gate, or if jumping over the gate was the actual solution. The battle music started picking up after I had already left, and it kept going even after I reunited with my human, so I had a “oh no, did I just cheese the boss fight?” moment. I replayed it and I think jumping the gate was intended, but I’m still not 100% sure. But now my human and I are stuck on the wrong side of the locked gate 😂.
The presentation is absolutely the strongest part for me. I loved the style, the sound was great until the weird ending moment, and the tutorial was super clear. The gameplay itself didn’t really hook me, but there’s a lot of polish here and the vibe is great.
Short and sweet. Lovely little guy but personally i found the controls to be a bit clunky especially the jump which wasn't feeling that good. The mechanic of picking up and item pickup having a different effect was nice i can imagine this being a core mechanic with some depth to it. Pixel art was very pleasing aswell, good job!
Really Beautiful and nice vibe but the controls could be better feels a bit too punishing when jumping on and off ledges, and I didn't realise the cone was throwable until I read a review below so another input prompt would have been nice and I also had to cheese the last level I wasn't too sure what to do with the arrow guy so I just spammed dash into the gate until I cleared it
Really nice artwork on the game, and the beginnings of some cool platformer mechanics. These were largely communicated really well in spirit with the theme. I think the throwable cone could have benefitted from another interaction reminder that E picks it up and E can also throw it - this wasn't clear to me quickly enough.
Overall however the controls felt very clunky - jumping especially just did not feel good, and I didn't get far in the game because the elements requiring you to jump onto small tree platforms frustrated me a lot. In part this is probably because the character controller is long rather than tall, and the animation doesn't communicate a jump too well.
I wish there had been a bit more feedback when attacking an enemy that clarifies that I hit them, and also more feedback when they die.
Otherwise on the feel of the game, I would recommend adding music to improve the feel significantly, and personally I think I would rethink the concept of the enemies some. The concept of a dog, who is also so nicely designed, trying to rescue its owner is great - but this being set in a medieval fantasy universe felt a little out of sync to me. The wolf character felt a bit more appropriate as a medieval pet perhaps - there is just something that doesn't click for me between the character and the world.
Great character art, the dog is really cute.
Environment art is good, would be keen to see what it could look like with a few rounds of polishing.
Game mechanics were good, but I would like a bit more feedback with hits and being hit and refinement of the platforming and combat.
Great Job overall!
Really great pixel art and atmosphere! The dog movement and dash animations were very well done.
I found some of the platforms hard to jump on, and the enemies were easily avoidable.
I thought this did a great job of telling a story! The tutorial was very by-the-books, and very understandable.
As a player, I did lack incentive to engage with any enemy. It was far too risky to attack, and much easier to run past. I'm not sure if that was the intention.
Also, there should be more invincibility frames after taking damage. That contributed to combat being too risky to engage in.
