This game is very atmospheric. I got stuck in the bio-printer. I had to mute the speaker because the sound of the coins mining was driving me crazy. Nice game overall, good job.

Great art, great atmosphere...great game!

That squishy brain is AWESOME. Awesome vibe. This is a 2D game, right? And if so, how did you make your art?

Developer

Thanks!  Yep. It’s totally 2D. For the art, my basic workflow is generate images with AI, drop it into Inkscape, vectorize, then cut out the pieces I want and kitbash the images.  For this jam, I didn’t have enough time to correctly color and polish the art. I usually use images with clear outlines because it is easy to cut up.  So, some keywords I use when generating are things like woodcut, outline, black and white.

Very interesting! I haven't experimenting with AI visuals yet because I didn't believe they could look all that good, but you've proved me wrong with your game. Thanks for sharing your process--I might try it out this summer. Good luck with the jam! :)

Developer

No worries.   But, no matter how good it looks, it’s still slop to some people.

Wow really exceptional style and atmosphere overall. Did you draw all the art??? It's so good!

Developer

Thanks for playing. I don’t draw the images. They are gen AI. But I assemble and color the images. For example that brain is 3 or 4 images of brains that are overlapped. Once I get the image arranged nicely, I cut out the pieces and animate them.

Great art style. A bit confusing in the beginning but pretty fun overall.

I absolutely loved the premise, art and vibe of the game. unfortunately i couldn't continue after printing the cable. Maybe I'm just not getting a specific clue on how to contine, but the part I did play was fun and really compelling to me! :)

Oh so much promise with art and vibe and fits nicely into theme, but the crypto part sucked to be honest. Also, I could barely read what was on the computer monitor screen. much too small font size. Was keen to get into more of the gameplay, just couldn't get past the crypto bit -that part was not fun. The sticking plugs into brains - big fun! Good jamming!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback.  I appreciate the honesty. The crypto bit was only supposed to last 3 or 4 minutes then it should be automated enough to run in the background.  Needed more balancing and less clicking. I planned to replace the click with hover for mining, but just ran out of time.  My other idea for making currency in game was to solve captchas for AI agents, which I hear is a real thing.

Really great art and sound effects while mining crypto.

Developer

There is more there, I promise. But, the code is pretty buggy.  You’d have a pretty hard time getting past the cable bug. Crypto part is only about 10% of the game.  Thanks for your kind words!

Maybe I'm missing something but I had no idea what to do. More instruction would have been helpful.

Developer

Thanks for trying.   I could add some instructions, but that would spoil the fun.  I understand that not all gamers like poking around in the dark.  What I do want to get better at is subtly guiding the player without explicit instructions.

This is an enjoyable idle game wrapped in the skin of am extremely compelling  flash-style point & click adventure game. Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug where it won't give me the option to buy the "cable blueprint." I hope this gets fixed soon, because what little I was able to play of it, i found extremely intriguing.

Developer(+1)

Thanks  for playing. Yep. It is in a really delicate state right now. I was able to get to the end in this version, but it falls apart with any stray moves. If only I had 1 more day to squash those bugs, lol.

Very fun concept, amazed by the quality and design. The art is amazing, a lot of detail that makes you feel more immersed into the story,  had a lot of fun playing this
I only ran into one problem, where even after I purchased the cable blueprint it still said I needed it, which forced me to restart.
Still the game is amazing, real fun to play, and the story is very cool!

Thanks for trying it!   I rushed at the end and ended up wrecking part of the early game to fix some bugs in the later game.   There is quite a bit more content, but I don’t think it’s accessible in its current state.   Unfortunately, I’ll be away from my computer for the rest of the jam, so it’s going to remain in this state for at least two weeks.

I used the cable from monitor...and the other cable appeared. So, the game could be finished.
