Hello!
I'm looking for a UI Artist / UI Designer to collaborate on the interface design of TROFA – The Rebirth of Franklin Albrecht, a narrative investigation game focused on atmosphere, storytelling, and player experience.
The work involves both structuring the UI (wireframes) and creating the final UI artwork.
Visual references
To give a clearer idea of the kind of UI we are aiming for, some useful references include:
- Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony – for the clarity and organization of screen layouts
- Persona 5 – for the creative use of space and dynamic screen composition
- Professor Layton – as a reference for the overall visual tone closer to the game's atmosphere
These are not meant to be copied, but rather to give an idea of the visual and functional direction of the UI.
Main goal
The main focus of the task is to design clear screen layouts and define a coherent UI flow, ensuring that the interface remains readable and intuitive while fitting the visual tone of the game.
Structure of the commission
The collaboration will be organized in two main phases:
1. Wireframe / UI Flow
- Define the structure of key screens
- Create wireframes for several core interfaces
- Help organize the flow between the main sections of the game
2. UI Art
- Create the final UI screens
- Design UI elements consistent with the game’s visual style
- Deliver assets ready for implementation
Types of UI screens involved
The project includes several categories of interface:
Gameplay HUD
- bars and indicators (health, mental stability, etc.)
- icons and feedback elements
System screens
- main menu
- save/load
- settings/options
- pause menu
Gameplay-related screens
- Deduction Board (investigation system)
- inventory / equipment
- dialogue UI
Extra screens
- game over
- credits
- loading screen
Many of these screens are variants of the same layout, so the main goal is to establish a consistent and reusable UI system.
Workflow
- Tasks organized via Jira
- Communication mainly through Slack
- Work divided into milestones
Ideal profile
Looking for someone who:
- has experience with game UI / UX
- is comfortable starting from wireframes
- understands player flow and usability
- has both design and artistic sensibility
Compensation
This is a paid commission. Compensation will be discussed directly depending on experience and proposal.
