The camera occaisionally worked unintuitively or against what I would have expected. The overall mechanics, the squid boss and the whirlwind concept worked well. Audio design was superb. There could have been a bit more juice as feedback.

I was able to defeat the Kraken. I can see the game escaped your control a bit during development (camera not showing UI, color of the kraken different than tentacles, pieces on the sides could not be reached, ...) But I appreciate you made an actual end.

Scratches that itch of 3D Pinball: Space Cadet nostalgia, especially with the music if it didn't end so quickly! I found the camera movement pretty unwieldy.

The blurry background animation may have detracted from the style of all your other assets. I think all the bright coloured art is what you should lean into. Maybe a simpler background could allow you to add juice to the ball hitting objects or moving about the screen while being readable.

This felt like a creative 2000's pinball game. The goal was a bit confusing, but that doesnt matter when your having fun awakening a kraken >:)

I found the camera a bit confusing, and although the UI reticle seemed fancy and informative, I didn't really understand it's purpose - as just clicking would have it shoot a really weak ball, and holding it any amount would change the reticle and camera? Anyways, I liked the squid boss at the end, and the overall idea about doing pachinko stuff in a whirlpool is interesting
Here's a playtest!

Thanks so much for reviewing and including in your stream!

The controls alas were not as nice as we'd hoped - camera and click to fire stronger needed to fit together well and sadly didn't get where I at least had expected. Glad you got through it, was really interesting watching first reactions.

just so you know I tried to play but the loading is stuck on 90%, I tried Opera and FF

Developer

Sometimes it takes a long time to load for some reason, I had the same issue but left it for a while and it loaded. Not sure if it's Itch's servers

I like it, although the ball kept clipping through the edges objects instead of hitting them, so I think some of the hitboxes could have been adjusted a bit haha

I almost wanted a speed-up button, as I waited for my missed shot to slowly circle the middle.

I loved the vibes, felt like a mid 00s flash game of some sort.

Overall, I think it was a little too slow, and needed more ping-ponging action.  It wasn't super clear that the goal was to defeat the Kraken-thing, but I was drawn to summon the tentacles because they just looked cool.

I wasn't really sure what to do beyond trying to hit all the things? The shooting control was intuitive but if there was an end goal beyond hitting all the objects, it wasn't clear to me.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! There is an end goal, but yes it needed some more guidance. We did talk about having a better onboarding experience with micro levels but didn't have time to implement it unfortunately.
