I had a lot of fun! I really love this visual style, and I think it matched very well with the SFX.
I would definitely enjoy playing more levels, facing new waves, or seeing a greater variety of attacks. I would certainly spend more time playing and having fun with it.
Congratulations on the work!
Very nice and polished experience!
Usually jam games tend to be a bit unpolished, i have to say that this was a breath of fresh air! The game is fun and understandable, the art is good, and the theme fits well too. If I had to find a small critique, it would be that the gameplay is a bit too simple, and at times the controls are not that "snappy".
Aside from that small criticism, I have to sincerely say that this is one of my favourite entries so far.
Very good work! 👍👍
P.s. I’m a bit low on ratings right now, I would really appreciate it if you could try my game as well and give me your feedback (if you haven’t already). Everything helps a lot, thanks in advance and sorry to have asked!
Without a doubt, this is one of the funniest games I've played so far haha. The humor fits incredibly well within the game's overall concept, which makes it work amazingly well without ever feeling forced or unnatural.
I have to say, the visuals are wonderful. I really liked your pixel art style. The environment feels very lively thanks to all the different elements present throughout the scenes. The animations are smooth, and everything comes together really nicely. If I'm not mistaken, the perspective you used for the environments is called isometric, right? It's a style I'd love to explore myself someday, and when that day comes, I'll definitely remember your game as a source of inspiration.
The music and sound effects matched the game's atmosphere very well, although I did feel that the attacks could have a bit more impact with some additional sound effects and subtle screen shake.
The gameplay is simple and straightforward, so I didn't run into any issues there (except for the fact that, since it's a browser game, Ctrl + W ended up closing it a few times, but I know you're already aware of that haha). I also think it could be interesting to include a small tutorial during combat, just to further reinforce how the player should proceed.
And finally, one thing I thought was absolutely fantastic was the fact that each hero has their own unique role and way of attacking the boss. It added so much life to the game and really made us feel like the final boss of that world (even if we don't have enough mana to do absolutely anything).
Congratulations on the project, and I wish you the best of luck in the jam!
Thank you so much for such a detailed review! Yeah, we spent less time on sfx than we wanted, unfortunately, will pay more attention to that next time! Glad you liked our game!
Hey folks,
Nice game, unfortunately I closed the tab a lot of times with Ctrl + W, but besides that, it was a nice job here.
Congrats on your submission
Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, it was a huge overlook from our side, unfortunately none of us knew about that combination. We will keep that in mind for future web builds.
Fun, interesting, and very polished — I honestly don’t have much else to say besides that I think this is one of the best games in the jam. Great work!
Thank you so much for the review! Glad you liked it!
Genuinely one of the best submissions I've played so far!.
Although I had some issues with the game, there were way more positives to boast about that completely outshined all of the negatives.
One that I will start with is the creativity with the animations. Genuinely really cool! Also you had me laughing at the terminator black hole reference.
Here are some ways I would improve the game.
1. Don't tell the players how to play, show them. There was a lot in the tutorial that made it difficult to understand how to play the game. That being said I also didn't really read through them because I just wanted to play the game and have fun.
One way to fix this would be to take the player through a tutorial room that showcases the mechanics one by one against stationary targets. This removes the danger and lets the player learn before jumping right in.
2. The VFX could use some work. There is already a lot there, but some simple lighting systems and particle systems would make the game absolutely insane to look at. Some simple points lights around the candles would add to the atmosphere and likely even make for some suprise attacks from the heros.
Overall great game, and I look forward to seeing what you do in the next Jam.
Thank you for such a detailed review! I was thinking about making the tutorial as a separate scene, but it would have taken too much time, we were running very short on time, so decided to make this visual tutorial as a compromise. As for the light, yeah, we did almost nothing about it, will pay more attention to it in our next games. Glad you liked our game!
It turns out that Ctrl + W closes the tab lol, and those keys are used to move and lock on target in our game. We were not aware about that combination, sorry in advance for accidentally closed tabs in the middle of the game :)
Solid Game !!! I love how dumb where you are the final boss but lacking of mana haha. Also when casting skill you have to press the key yourself to cast it isn't that great?. The optimization is done good job!
Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, we’ve wanted to add some interactivity to the attack, this small mini game looked like a valid option, without bringing much hassle to the gameplay. We’re glad you liked our game!
Great game! It's a simple but well executed idea. I thought it fits the theme really well :D. The music is super nice and I loved the middle finger when you throw them into a black hole😭, that was really funny. The pixel art is really well done and overall it seems like a super polished game. I also appreciate the tutorial, it really helps to understand the controls and how to use them so that was really well done :D. I was able to defeat the game by defeating all the heroes🥳🥳. I also liked how each of them had different roles, I think that was a really nice addition.
Here are some point of improvements:
- Your game could improve a lot with some SFX. The attacks already felt pretty decent with the camera zoom in and the amazing pixel art animation. If you added some good SFX that would really juice up the attack, maybe even throw in a camera shake for some of the attacks and that would be great!
- I think the boss would benefit from moving just a bit faster maybe? The dash is already really good but I think just a bit faster might be better.
Other than that, this was an amazing game to play and I really did enjoy playing this :D. Great game jam entry.
Thank you for your feedback! We’ve ran into a shortage of time with sfx, so it was done in a rush in the last few hours unfortunately. Animations were one of the big tasks, we’ve spent a lot of time on those, should have thought that sound effects are big and important part of those too. Glad you liked our game!
The animations were super well done! But yeah SFX is also pretty important asw, it really levels up the game feel, but it's a game jam after all😁.
