This is rad.  I think you should get rid of the wall cling mechanic; it messes with jumps that land you too close to a wall or edge of platform and the gravity flip 100% makes it non useful.  Everything is else is fantastic; double jump is nice and the gravity flip makes exploration a blast.   With some more puzzle mechanics and a movement balance pass, this game could be a lot of fun for a while.

Developer

Thanks for playing. Yeah more puzzle stuff with gravity flip is a winning idea.

I enjoyed it!

The movement could use a bit of fine tuning (took me a while to realize there was a double jump).  And it would have been nice if the levels made a bit more use of the gravity switching mechanic.

But overall this is put together pretty well, good job!

Thanks for playiong and the feedback. Agreed needs fine tuning post game jam.

Great job

Developer

Thanks.

Nice work! The game has a lot of potential, and I can see the effort that went into making it.

That said, I ran into a few issues while playing:

Gameplay

  • Whenever I moved, the player kept snapping around, which made the game almost unplayable for me. Because of that, I couldn't fully experience or properly evaluate the gameplay.

Theme: Connections

  • I couldn't really see how the theme was implemented in the game, if it was. If there's a connection that I missed, I'd genuinely love to hear more about it.

Visuals

  • The art assets seem to use different styles and resolutions. The player, enemies, stage outlines, and spikes all felt like they came from different visual directions. It may have been an artistic choice, but it didn't come across that way to me. Instead, it made the visual identity of the game feel less cohesive. This particular issue is often called "mixelation," which refers to the visual clash caused by using different pixel sizes or resolutions within the same artwork or sprite set.

That said, I can definitely see the potential in the project. Thank you for making the game, and keep it up!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and playing. The cable and socket to open the doors was the connection link. Yeah the visuals can be improved as well as some of the movement mechanics.

Cool mechanic of switching gravity. I also think the rope mechanic is interesting, though I wish more was done with it, such as having to take it further distances or having it get caught on terrain, making the player have to properly path out where they pull the rope.

I appreciated the forgiving amount of checkpoints.

When switching gravity, a few times I was surprised by spike pits. especially in the last level. I would suggest adding something or designing levels in a way to help warn the player so they don't blindly throw themselves into hazards when they switch gravity.

I did encounter a bug in the first level. After I climbed the ladder, the character stayed in the climbing state and I was able to float anywhere in the level.

Overall, you have some interesting mechanics I could see getting expanded on. Nice job!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for the feedback and playing. Good point about expanding the rope mechanics and level design. The level design was 'OK I need to sleep but there is only a few hours before the deadline' sought of thing.

Played 4 levels. I liked the concept, it’s fun to play with gravity control. The connections also fits the theme somewhat. One nitpick that was annoying is that i couldn’t jump when was touching a wall. that kind of slows down the game for me. Also, guards just take damage without retailiating if they are facing the other way.

Developer(+1)

True and true. I ran out of time ofc and it defineatly needs smarter enemies. Thanks for the feedback and playing the game.

That was a fun, hard little “inverted platformer”!

I had fun trying to speedrun the levels - thanks for including a timer!

There was a weird bug with collisions sometimes, when right next to a jumpable platform it would get stuck (normal and inverted) and I had to make space (often too late, damn guards being good at their jobs!) before being able to jump over.

All in all, nice work! The puzzles and levels were fun to traverse!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing. Can get improved for sure. On the list post jam.

Fun game! I thought connecting the cable was an interesting mechanic with some potential.

Developer

Likewise your game was a bewdy

Nice game, I finished it. The controls felt snappy, fun to play.

Developer

Thanks for playing.

Wow it's amazing, the check points blows my mind!

Developer

Thanks, good times. It's needs some particle effects and stuff but hey, post jam.

I liked the overall visual direction of the game, and the idea itself seems to have a lot of potential here.

I did run into a movement bug where moving forward made things get pretty glitchy, so I couldn’t progress very far, but even with that I could tell the core idea is fun. Would definitely love to try an updated version later on!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing. The movement bug will be smashed after the game jam, poor bug

Really liked the sci-fi atmosphere and the overall presentation of the game! The connection/network theme fits the jam very well, and the neon-style visuals create a cool futuristic mood.

The project feels interesting and stylish overall. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks. Good times.

it's nice really neat

Developer

Cheers. Thanks.

I love the art style, and I can already see a lot of potential in this game! I did run into a bug where movement gets really glitchy whenever I try moving forward, so I wasn’t able to progress much. But honestly, it already feels like it could be really fun once that’s fixed!

Developer(+1)

Thanks Shanzhi. there is a move bug that shall be ironed out. Thanks for playing.

I dig the aesthetics, like the backgrounds you chose, it sets the vibes. Once in a while, the movements glitches and it's impossible to move, I have to reload the game. Once you get the grip on the gravity flip, it opens a lot of potential for puzzles and solutions. Cheers!

Developer

Thanks for having a go. Yeah post game jam the movements could do with some fine tuning.

Can't seem to get the controls to work - flickers when pressing left or right (dash, but shift hasn't been pressed). Looks great though!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I'll have to sus that out for sure. Thanks for playing.

Best time: 10m 14s , once I got good with gravity switching while jumping, I was having alot of fun shooting guys while sneaking up on them. Good game :)

Developer

Noice. Thanks for playing and getting to the end.

Nice game and finished it :D
The sound of switching the gravity is nice and wel recognisable when pressing it

However I found a bug (or by design I don't know).
- When pressing Q (switch gravity) on a ladder, the character switches but doesn't  "fall" (up or down).
- Also the double jump wasn't explained (or missed it completely)
- And sometimes your character can be stuck in the wall when jumping (too impatient from my end?)

Developer

Thanks for having a go. Yeah I ran out of time ofc, yeah gravity flip on a ladder can get weird at times. Things to fix after the game jam. Yeah double jump wasn't explained. On the list of post game jam fixes. Thanks for the feed back.

Very nice...liked the connection idea.
I think you could make it a great action/puzzle platformer.

Developer(+1)

Thanks. I watched the rope tutorial video from Sasquatch B Studios.

Great idea, however had some issues with moving. The A and D was flickering in place and the suddently it jumped forward to the max distance the character could run.

Developer (1 edit)

ahh might have been the dash "shift" key like in Celeste. I think it needs some fine tuning for sure. Thanks for playing the game.
