Nice take on the "connected" theme. I like the tight controls and the variety of enemmies. God job!

I really liked how you can't just shoot yourself out of tough situations and have to think about your positioning. Had fun!

Great entry! Really liked the mechanic of having health and ammo linked! Made things feel very strategic and it was fun to slip in and grab more energy right as I was about to get hit and then keep on blasting! Really liked the graphics and music too! And I beat your score! Got 5050!

Great job with this one!

I liked the idea of thinking before you start wailing on the enemies. The timer sort of forced the game to end instead of letting it happen naturally. Other than that the core loop was executed well 4/5. Solid controls, solid core and a pleasing, simple art style.

Honestly a great game, the connection to the theme was like 5/10 but it was fun and polished as much as could be I think.

Could add some more sound effects and maybe some cooler explosion effects on enemy death and stuff maybe make the colors pop some more but thats just personal preference.

I liked it the game in total for me gets a good 8-9/10

Thanks mate! I agree, the connection to the theme could have been stronger. I was planning to add an objective about connecting a power grid or something similar, but it ended up getting cut in order to tighten up the loop

Great entry and a lot of fun.
First thing  I noticed from the screenshots is everything is really cohesive. They style works and everything fits together. Just from looking at the screenshots you can tell what's going on and what the game is about.

The graphics feel very intentional with the deep red colour pallet and slightly retro vibes. Despite being quite harsh (which fits the game) I feel like they are pretty pleasing to look at and don't distract form the game. The added polish really shines with the effects when enemies die, the trails the player and enemies leave and the different movement styles (like the dodging of  the mid size ones) adding to the gameplay.

In terms of gameplay I have some good news and some bad news...
The good news is It feels really nice. Having a couple of different enemy types lead to some really nice feeling emergent behaviour. The way the small, mid and big enemies would end up surrounding me and their different attacks working symbiotically really made for some hectic gameplay. The central mechanic of connecting ammo and health was difficult to remember for me at first because I'm used to just approaching games like this as 'spray and pray', but once i was used to it, it really added and element of strategy. I started to plan a route that would let me unload my entire health and be never a battery as soon as I needed it.

The bad news is..... I beat your score! 5350

Overall it was a really solid entry and a great experience. The enemy behaviour and the fluid gameplay and strategy mixed with fast paced action gave me very ;Geometry Wars' vibes (which i love). Thanks for sharing and great job!

Thanks for the great feedback! I am very new to pixel art, so hearing that people like the art fills me with joy

5350 points is cooked though, I don't think anybody else has managed to even crack 5k yet

The play style you adopted was exactly what I wanted the level and enemy behaviour to encourage the player to do. Absolutely stoked that it worked!

I have bad news for both of you...

Stressful but well made! I don't play a lot of 2d shooters so I found it difficult, the enemies shoot a lot of bullets so was really hard to line up shots & avoid bullets without playing very cautiously which would be fine except theres a time limit and the fact that enemies respawned fairly quickly made be feel like I was not actually making any progress.

Really liked the aesthetics & and background music!

Thanks for your comment! I have played a lot of difficult 2D shooters over the years, so I think I tuned the difficulty a bit high...

This was my first time making music for a game, and I have only recently began getting into pixel art, so I really appreciate the compliments
