Looks great, now just need to make more of a game out of it. Loved filling the screen with nodes.  I have only done a few Jams myself but the time limit is not long enough. there is always more you want to do.  Hope you get to finish this.

This game is an actual representation of what my brain feels like when I am trying to design a game.

Cool Idea!

I was a bit confused at first, but after clicking the mouse and seeing those beautifully glowing blocks, along with the score numbers constantly ticking up after connecting them, I just couldn't help but fill the entire screen.

It would be amazing to have some music or sfx, or maybe adding some witty little flavor texts that pop up whenever your score-per-second reaches certain milestones—that would definitely put a smile on players' faces. Very on-theme submission!

Managing to make this mechanic seems very hard to me, well done that you nailed it good!( Even tho I'm not sure if I managed to understand the game) It would be way better if you go on developing this, add more node and connection types maybe

I keep spamming nodes.. across the whole screen and had fun doing it, i think may be the game needs more meaning in networking. Adding different node types, connection limits, upgrades, rising costs, energy flow vfx, sfx, music, tier goals etc would give it real depth, because this game has a lot of potential.

You have met the theme. Definitely. The game is surprisingly simple to use; xselerx wrote it similarly.

For me personally, the concept "click on the screen until it is yellow with a turquoise layer upon it" has no appeal but who am I to judge about incrementals. So I am sorry, it is just not my type of game; technically it is original, and SFX for placing a node and a futuristic background music surely would convey the right mood for people who like to see numbers going up. So don't let you stop by my candid words and extend it ;-)

There was something really satisfying about this one. I found myself trying to click as fast as I could to see if I could place nodes faster then they could produce energy. There are some fun directions you could take this one. It would be interesting to see how the gameplay changes if the nodes get more expensive depending on how many have been placed. I guess I'm still in out click the energy counter mode and I want a fighting chance :D.

On a different note I really relate to what you said about scoping in software engineering vs. in games. There's so much extra complexity to even simple games they can sneak up on you.

Love the concept of this one If you had more time for audio and some kind of  VFX this would be epic.

Cozy and fun project. A shame you didn't get to add sfx and music in time but the concept and mechanics are fun!

Hey there, looks like the mechanic is complex to program. It's a shame there is no progression but it's a jam and totally understandable.Nice try. I see a concept beneath the mechanic so keep it up!

Appreciate the kind words and seeing beyond the lacklustre delivery.

I usually have a habit of just jumping straight into a game and only reading the description or control layout after a round or two. When I started your game, I was just staring at a black screen... and I thought, 'Hmm, did my browser freeze?' I reloaded the page and tried again. After a few seconds, I finally decided to click into the screen just in case and was so surprised when a glowing node suddenly appeared! :D As you can see in the screenshot, I ended up clicking around a whole lot after that ^^"

As you commented my game, some music would do a lot in combo with the glowing connection. :)

Mate, that’s brilliant!

Very good point on the instructions though. I did realise this was missing (along with a whole bunch of things), but that’s something I should have quickly added before submission alright.

I like the idea. A few thoughts I had about it:

  1. music + sound effects would make world of difference
  2. A penalty for clustering too many nodes together (maybe an explosion)
  3. Some progression mechanics: levels, or maybe upgrades to nodes.

I like creating music as well as now learning game dev, so I had the best of intentions to knock some synthwave music and sound effects together for it, but time management was not my friend this time and the biggest lesson i learned.
