I got past the tutorial but I am not exactly sure what to do in level 1. I don’t think the camera should follow the kangaroo when jumping. I got motion sickness playing another game that did something similar, so I will just stop there. Also maybe use a bigger font for readability. Nice entry.

I loaded the game and was like yo... this atmospheric music is amazing. Then I got dropped into the scene and it was like... build this graph node. I'm like what!? looll. I'm pretty sure I was followed to do exactly what the prompt was telling me, only to fail. But what it did not mention (which was not immediately obvious) is that you actually have to click one of the options on that Move Node. So after I clicked and selected an option and then it worked, I was like... Okay okay, I see now. But then I got to Level 1 and it told me to Jump. Okay... so now I got totally lost. Saying move one case is either the node statement or the case of stairs XD How do I end my dashing right (running loop) that has been set to loop, in order to access a Jump Right command?

If you have never seen a Node tree before or interacted with one to link an end point of a noodle into a slot, you may never understand this at all, or you may never even think to right click in order to add a node option. You definitely need to say Right click to add a Node. Also mention that  you have to purely interact with the graph itself because someone will just clicking in the game space where the graphics are, trying to interact with things.

I feel like this is pretty complicated but most likely probably easy if you understand if you have experience and or awareness of what to expect with block coding and or node trees. Feels that it places an abstract emphasis on coding knowledge. The theme, the audio, the visuals, is all there. But I can't make any connection to the gameplay. This seems like it could be a really fun concept, especially if you like thinking and logic problem solving. I was totally ready for this to be a 2D platformer of some kind, but I was wrong XD

I really like the pixel art background. Very nice unsaturated colors that blend with a nice depth... while using the brighter colors for the characters in the forefront. Great visibility!! I also like the sense of what I feel is a balance of hope and despair created from the scale of the images, the color palette, and the audio.

Thanks for playing the game !
I did my best to provide music that fits the theme, and am glad to know that you liked it !
(I did the audio only so I couldn't give you a relevant answer about all of this, but THANKS a lot for your comment !)

Developer

I appreciate the time you took for playing the game. I can see the issue with the learning curve and naming issues. Thanks for the feedback.

I really enjoyed this game! I love the theme, and it fits well with the game jam. I ran into some bugs, though I don't blame you as I also made a similar game using Godot's GraphEdit node. The robot would sometimes get stuck when dashing into a wall, and the game would freeze, forcing me to refresh the page. One time, the mouse wheel wouldn't zoom in or out in the graph, so I used the buttons instead. I'm on Firefox if that helps. The game may be a bit difficult for non-programmers, so it might need more play-testing. I liked the look of the game, and liked the robot-kangaroo. I think it's a great concept that can be expanded upon. Great job!

Thanks for taking the time to comment on our game !

The kangaroo robot came from a pun : think of Wall-E, this one is Wall-abby

Tutorial definitely needs improvement - very very difficult to pick up and play quickly, and asking for a lot of investment from the player before any kind of gameplay is present.  Would love to see this game with improved instructions.

Developer

Thanks for having taken the time to try and understand it ! The tutorial was done at the end of the timeline, we are glad we managed to have the game actually playable ! We will continue to do our best and see what happens :)

Game idea is great, but a little bit painful to execute as a player.

Overall great game

Developer(+1)

We had a great time trying to come up with these ideas in such a short amount of time ! Thanks for your comment, indeed the gameplay might be a little bit unforgiving, but we did your best so we're proud :) have a nice one !

I loved the gameplay in this, its really clever. I really enjoyed these type of puzzles! It was a little bit confusing at first but once I understood how everything worked it became quit satisfying! Maybe make the robot a little faster, but still, one of the game I've most enjoy in this jam ! Great work!

Developer

Happy you liked it. It's really nice word especially it's our first jam. Yeah we needed to break the speed to do easy fixes on bug. I will try to fix it before this weekend.

Game looks interesting but I can’t get pass the beginning of the tutorial. I plug the pulse into the move node then loop back the “move completed” to the input of the move node. Then I click the pulse. Then the screen shifts but nothing seems to happen, nothing moves on screen and I can’t do anything. Could it be a resolution problem, or something else?

Developer

Tutorial should be doable, but there is definitely some bugs. I'm trying to fix them currently. For your issue, i will look into it.

Developer

Did you make sure to select the movement you wished to do by clicking on it in the move node?

Submitted(+1)

Nice idea. I think I found a bug: Move possible right executed move not possible at the start of level 2 (where to the right, there is clearly no obstacle). Also, seeing which node is currently executed would really help. Anyway, good job!

Developer

Thx very much for the feed back. Indeed we have multiple issues, i will try to fix them this week

Developer (1 edit)

Hi there! This bug should be resolved on our end now, can you confirm?

Thanks a lot for playing our game and your feedback in any case!

Submitted(+1)

Yes, now it works as expected.
