What Breaks The Rules?

the post states "Games submitted cannot contain mature content such as violence, gore, NSFW, or offensive content". I want to make sure that my game isn't prompting mature content. I found cool math games has games that have some form of violence such as "Awesome Tanks 2" and several tower defense games. I understand that there is a threshold of what is okay and what isn't and it's not very clear what that is.

Well, usually in that case that is acceptable:

  • Cartoon or abstract combat
  • Tanks, towers, lasers, explosions
  • Enemies disappearing or popping
  • No blood
  • Absent or minimal suffering or realistic injury
  • Stylized/non-realistic visuals
  • Light slapstick violence

But I also have question from my side, which wasn't really answered in other thread. Topics such as document forging and bribes are considered alright? Are they like borderline or complete deal breaker?

The game is already designed without it so it mostly curiosity question.

Hi MarySue! We would recommend steering away from document forging/bribes that could be enticing to the player as that is a bit of a darker and more mature subject.

Hi Stand Gaming LLC! Games that have light combat are suitable for our audience. As you mentioned, we do have tower defense games on our site and we also have some games that have RPG combat and platformers that have light fighting mechanics to defeat enemies. Admittedly, Awesome Tanks 2 is an older game that we licensed years ago and today, would probably not have licensed.

We avoid games that explicitly mention death or use mature weapons such as guns/bullets.

I'm worried about that aswell, because my game is grand strategy with money being a constraint. It's on a board and uses Unicode visuals, so here is the link, it does link back to my itch.io game. Please verify whether it's suitable.
