while distributing the invitations I searched for the 10th person for minutes, I walked around the whole city many times, it turns out the 10th person was the npc who gave me the invitation quest :D the clouds moving crazily drove me insane, I don’t know if it’s possible but sometimes they seemed to move faster than the plane, it’s incredible that you managed to bring together so much content in such a short time, the game has potential, even within this limited time you managed to build a very charming city, the controls were amazing, especially in a web format I’ve never seen such smooth control mechanics, thanks for sharing
Thank you for taking the time to play my submission! I know the invitations are a little cheeky with the giver also being one of the targets, and I am not sure if people liked that aspect or were more annoyed haha. The clouds are a little slower than the plane, but one of the adjustments I am looking at are the plane controls and adding in a speed adjustment so you can boost and slow down slightly more. Appreciate the feedback!
Hey Classmate! Great job coming through on this. Solid work. Bravo!
As far as the game goes, I had a few quick notes:
I agree that this fits well as an incorporation to the proof of concept for the course. Once more, bravo!
I will post more in the course discussion.
Grumpy!
Thanks, Grumpy! As always, appreciate the feedback. I will have to look at what is going on with the dialogue system with the bar manager, as obviously that is not the intended design. I think what I will try to do is move to a keyboard selection process, as bringing up the cursor just for dialogue seems like it might not be the most refined solution.
Matt, I figured it out. It was the highlight color scheme.
I was clicking when the color change occurred, but the color blended into the environment. Because of that, I thought the darker color was the actual selection.
Perhaps a simple alphanumeric selection / input would resolve that issue. A green highlight color for the selected choice could also help distinguish what is currently selected. Even a simple up/down toggle would work.
I made it to the airplane ride and rode that thing for about half an hour. LOL! I stayed on it that long because I was trying to figure out how to land it. LOL! Maybe an “I” key mapped to instructions would help, or an Instructions button in the Pause menu.
Boss, it is a fun and engaging game. I was entertained, very much so! Solid!
Nice! You achieved a great amount of work during this jam delay. and I like the cozy feel.
Thank you for the feedback on my submission! I appreciate your reply and knowing that I had some success with the cozy tone. I have your game cued up to try next!
I really like the game idea. I also like the dialogue system. This is an excellent achievement.
Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the feedback here and in my community post! Getting insight from someone that has been working through multiple projects is a great resource that I am happy you were willing to share!
Good job implementing a dialog and quest system. Too bad you didn’t have time to make full use of them. I’m proud to say I delivered my 10 invitations. Took me a long time to find the 10th person to give it to, which was the very same person that gave me the quest to begin with, LOL.
I love the background mountain ranges. And the spastic clouds are hilarious.
Thank you for the taking the time to try my submission and provide some feedback! Yes, I am hoping I can build out the quest features and dialogue system to something much more robust. I really appreciate you looking for all 10 people in this game's current state, as down the road I plan for the people to be walking around their area, so it's just a simple hide and seek right now.
How nice are the synty packs!, The clouds are crazy which made me laugh. Good job with this one!
Thank you for taking the time to give my submission a try and enjoying my silly cloud feature. Appreciate it!
Not bad! I like the darts minigame. This kinda reminds me of Shenmue or Yakuza in terms of walking around a small town doing tasks.
Some feedback, for the camera, if you are using cinemachine, try the spherical orbital style. I think it will make the camera less disorienting
Thank you for the feedback! I know very little about orienting cameras, so I will definitely read up more on this. Is it the way the camera is spinning or the speed that it is moving that is causing more of the issue?
For me specifically, it is the way that the camera quickly zooms out or in depending on the angle. I think it can cause a lot of motion sickness for some players.
Also, we would love it if you took the time to play and review our game:
