A really sweet, easygoing read! A little on the nose with the title but I can forgive it because its a pretty awesome story hahaha! 

A few grammar mistakes, and the dialogue is a bit iffy, but a good story about shell shock and resolve. A little on the nose having impossible in both the title AND the story, but the destruction present and youth of the rat make it just about work.

Also I see you fellow rat fan having people tell their rats stories about heroes, heck yeah

the title is not exactly trying to sneak past anyone, but the story itself is nicely grounded. the fear here feels more convincing than any heroic speech would have. sincere, and easy to follow. lovely work.

You brought us into the world and I could see everything. That poor Ratman and his people. So tragic. Great job!

That was a nice little scene! Sometimes I think you don't have to spell things out so much, the reader can sense Chibdik's fear when his hand is shaking, for example. I loved the characters though and they have a great dynamic. Would love to read more about them!

Great story with very evocative writing! I really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed it. It was very refreshing to see ratfolk with such a different identity from the one many of us usually have in mind.

 A sweet and grounded read!!

The atmosphere in the opening is so heavy and immersive, you feel every bit of that silence. A reluctant soldier is such a classic but it never gets old when it's done with this much heart.

I don't know why I thought of Fivel, but I liked the interplay between characters. The veteran and the rookie. Nicely done.
