Solid game
A very well crafted and polished game. I like how you set the tone instanty from the start. That dramatic synth music kicking in, the voice over and then the clean and responsive visuals. I enjoyed slingshotting around the yellow pickups. Very satisfying. After a few upgrades it reminded me of geometry wars with that deformed grid pattern in the background. As for balancing I felt it was a bit easy for me, but for a game jam I think that usually is a good thing.
Thanks - appreciated the feedback! I agree .. definitely on the easy side. Thinking about what to do with it post jam, so all suggestions welcome :)
Great sound, music and visuals!
Fun gameplay loop.
I hate to say it, but I think this might be the one game in the jam which is too easy. I felt like I could have kept playing forever, and it was tempting to do so! I had to intentionally stay still and stop shooting in order to see what the game over screen might look like.
It's fun simply to fly around grabbing the yellow
dotspower orbs to level up even further, especially at the speeds allowed. And the fact that ramming into an enemy doesn't knock off a huge amount of health (which would swing the difficulty too far in the other direction.)Allowing for continuous fire is great, and somewhat balanced by the fact that you can also push away (and even destroy?) the power orbs you want to be collecting. Having the magenta enemies appear at a point before the player can damage them is a good call, though once homing missiles are unlocked it essentially signals the end of progression.
Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated! :)
had alot of fun, game is energetic and I love that sound track alot too. should have more ratings imo -ggty!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😀
Really fun game! And well polished too! I just think it's healing too much when you collect the yellow orbs, but I know it's difficult too find a balance. But overall, really solid and aesthetically pleasing game!
Thanks. I think you’re right - I tweaked the health boosts following jam feedback.. but it’s a bit too much. I’ll give it some more thought 😀
Took just a moment to figure out, but the colors helped me connect the mechanics. Had a lot of fun playing the game. The controls were great on my mouse and keyboard, and the music was great!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Appreciate the feedback
Movement feels great. Game was a lot of fun to play. I thought it was a good use of colour to indicate the items that you need to collect and which enemies can be hurt or are invulnerable. I'd agree with others that it'd be nice to be able to heal somehow and it definitely needs a pumping soundtrack!
Thanks for the feedback - really appreciated! I've added some pumping music - and I've also added an additional health boost when you level up. Let me know what you think if you get a chance to check it out again :)
just add some hints what is what and the game is perfect
Thanks! I ran out of time to instructions, but included how to play in the game page .. I'll do something better post jam. In the meantime, I've added some pumping music - and I've also added an additional health boost when you level up. Let me know what you think if you get a chance to check it out again :)
A genuinely unique twist on Asteroids, that feels more like the Cell stage of Spore crossed with some *.io game. I was delighted to discover that I bounce off of the asteroids harmlessly, then horrified to discover that my bullets bounce off of the enemies harmlessly. But it didn't matter much, since the actual goal is just to sort of gently brush against the collectibles on the way past. There's potential for expansion here, but it comes down to how many ideas the dev had but didn't have time to include.
Movement feels really good. love these types of games. good job on submitting :)
Very good game. I had lots of fun playing it. I like the art style and how clean it looked. The background grid warping was a nice touch. The game could've used some music. Maybe the game could've used some ending...? I had gotten as far as I could and then it felt repetitive. Small gripe given how fun the game is. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I've added a soundtrack and, you're right, it makes a big difference. I wanted an ending, but ran out of time to do this .. so post jam hopefully :)
Great arcade game! Took me a minute to understand where the enemies actually were, but the moment the first shot came flying at me, everything clicked.
Great job with this one!
Underrated game right now, I hope this gets more visibility because this is 100% unfiltered arcade FUN. My only notes are 1) needs music badly, would make things so much more exciting, and 2) needs a way to heal, even if just slightly when growing in size, but thats also part of difficulty which maybe means it doesnt need it? Idk, I'd also like to see a few power ups, maybe a bomb to clear everything out (even yellow power ups temporarily) just because sometimes there are more enemies than I can managed. I guess thats more than 2 notes; I just really liked the game. Great job!
Thanks very much. All three notes well received .. and I've addressed the first too. There are homing missiles in later levels, that clear loads of the enemies; even the magenta ones. So hopefully that helps too! I'll consider adding a smart bomb post jam :)
I really like the momentum of the character, you can whip around like wild! The warping of the background as things got bigger was also a cool touch!
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback 😀
Cool game, loved Geometry Wars back in the day so this is right up my alley. It looks great! Nice work.
Really liked the mechanics, took a while to figure out that the purple circles cannot be damaged but otherwise had a lot of fun!
Thanks! Yes, the magenta ones need something more powerful than the basic laser 😀
